Wait, the Torchlight Editor is over 3 times bigger than the game itself. What.

I think it's because it has all the game data inherently in addtion to all the tools and plugins and such that would help make proletariats, but I'm not sure.

I don't mind if former Alchemist's playstyle gets split into "nuke everything from orbit" and "sic your personal army at everything". It kind of felt unfair having both. And from what I've read, Engineers get to summon drones, so my imp-and-golem battalion may have their spiritual successors. :V

So this game seems like a Diablo clone. Not in a bad way, it's certainly very fun. I think I might play this more than the $60 piece of shit that's stewing in my disc drive. It actually reminds me more of Fate.

I just got Torchlight from the Humble Bundle. Anything I should know or consider before playing?

Don't ever use the "lucky" merchant. You'll end up paying 1000 gold for a worthless piece of shit.

Yeah, they're both ARPGs so there's bound to be similarities. I like Torchlight's style a lot more though. The only thing I don't like is how they're using the "orbs on both sides" UI that Diablo III used in Torchlight II. I like TL1's UI much better.




Tons and tons of items. Every class can use every item though, but some weapons are obviously better for certain classes (guns for sharpshooter, staves/wands for mage, swords for berserker, etc.) I roll with my tank-mage using a sword and shield. :B Also, Identify Scrolls will be scarce early game, but once you've built up enough cheddar you can buy them with ease.

The Designer of Fate and two co-designers that helped work on Diablo I and II worked on the torchlight games, so yeah. The first one was good, but had it's flaws but TLII is a fast improvement from what I played in the open beta.

Aw shit this thing's comin' out in 11 hours. If you haven't preordered it you better do it or else you'll miss out on the first one too.

Apparently the online is down because SERVERS but the single player is p cool so far. I'm playing an engineer with a FUCKING HAND CANNON and it is glorious.
