Rocketjumping physics feel a little weird.

Probably because I play too much TF2, but the rocketjumping course was hard as hell for me.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever reach a decent level of play in this game (ie. top scoreboards consistently). At least I managed to convince a bunch of friends to play the game too, so Free-for-Alls are still fun.

yeah the game has a pretty ridiculous skill ceiling. What are your areas of weakness? if you have trouble with combat, I recommend playing clan arena. I've found that my DM skill improved noticeably soon after I started playing CA matches.

If you need to practice controlling items, duels are definitely the fastest way to get the habit beaten into you. It's 100% necessary to time at least the major items if your opponent knows at all what they're doing.

A bit (well, more likely a lot) of both. My accuracy still isn't where it should be, I still can't think enough to switch weapons optimally and I'm not really timing powerups beyond "hmm, I guess quad should be up in a bit). I dunno, I think I'm just going to keep playing free-for-all for fun and hope I improve on the way.

quad takes 2 minutes to respawn, so if you hear that QUAD DAMAGE, just look at the clock and you'll know exactly when to hop on the next one.

also all health bubbles (including mega) take 35 seconds, and all armors (from shards to red) take 25 seconds, so if you can add/subtract quickly while playing then that should help. I set the round timer to count up instead of down because speed adding is easier than subtracting for me. Maybe that can make it easier for you.

I just spent the evening dueling someone I found in a pub. the first time i took him on, the final score was 17 to -4. he destroyed me.

on the last game of the night, it was 8 to 6, my favor.

that right there is why competitive multiplayer gaming is so great. It felt sooooo good.

I think I've improved a bit, just played one good match, I even wish I recorded that one because I got some crazy kills (mostly luck). I'm getting a bit sick of Free-for-All tbh, it's too hectic. Unfortunately it's all my friends ever want to play.

I generally don't like these kind of "shoot and jump" games, mostly due to me growing up playing games like Call of Duty and Half-life 2...(Despite HL2 having some glaring Bunny Hopping capabilities), I don't know why, but I just don't think this kind of approach is fun for an FPS. I like games that support teamwork more than just running off and trying to look badass(Despite in TF2 you can do that...with your friends help), and let me tell you that this is coming from someone who loves the HELL out of DooM and DooM 2.(Yes I spell them like that.)

But I will still give this game credit for making Quake Con, I'll have to check when it occurs for when DooM 4 is announced.

Exactly how much is the lightning gun DPS supposed to be? It feels like they're killing me way too quickly with it, even without quad damage.
