AWKWARD ZOMBIE

I fucking loved Symphonia but lost the game somewhere and can never play it again. It was probably my first real JRPG that I played in a genre that I otherwise don't care for. The combat system totally makes the entire series for me. Played Vesperia, it was cool, but I don;t have a 360 so oops. I've heard Abyss is really great though, I might try to pick it up for the 3DS this summer.

Also ToS2 was a huge waste of time, ugh.

Speaking of the combat system, that was one of the bigger things I disliked about Abyss. In Symphonia I played a pure swordsman who could work with the mage to gain elemental attacks. In Abyss I got a hybrid whose moves were more like Kratos. I actually switched my control to the main character's friend just because he had the sword moves I wanted (Sword Rain, Tiger Fang, Sonic Thrust, etc).

That... isn't really an issue? That's why you play Guy instead of Luke. In Graces I primarily mained Malik or Sophie because I liked their fighting styles better.

Definitely one of the things I like about Tales, you can be any character and they all play differently. Lloyd was definitely easy to control and probably the best fighter, but I eventually switched to Zelos because he had more flexibility.

I always fought with Sheena in Symphonia.

I solo moded chaos on Graces F with Hubert, dat Rolling Thunderbolt spam.

I've played all the tales games I've played multiplayer, and am always the spellcaster.

Booooring the only good caster is Bacon because she can just insta cast stuff in over limit.

Lloyd Has Two Daddies

Symphonia is the best game ever, and Dawn of a New World made me put the game down for a few months to get over the terrible parts. There was never a point where the monsters were useful, especially once you got the protagonists from the first game. They were also incredibly hard to actually acquire without going out of your way, and even then, you only ever got weak monsters. Then there was the new voice cast, I guess Robin was smart enough to avoid this game. I think I blotted out most of the memories about everything else, the cutscenes/etc, but I do remember how bipolar Marta was and how big a boner Emil had for Richter. Oh, and the side-dungeons were terrible. DoNW wouldn't be as bad if it didn't have to live up to the first Symphonia, but it wouldn't be good either.
