I don't know of any channel's focused on 2v2 in particular, but Huskystarcraft has a bazillion casts and I think there are some 2v2's in there. Good caster too.

2v2 matches are nowhere near as competitive as 1v1, so they're unfortunately a lot less likely to be cast. Matches with more players are also a lot harder to cast.

I found this guy via reddit who should apparently have 2v2/3v3 and so on casts. I can't check if it's any good though, bandwidth is still gone.

This site has A LOT of casts, this is what you get if you search 2v2.

That last one is probably your best bet.

Okay, so apparently Naniwa probe rushed Nestea because he didn't want to play because they both we're 0-3 already and had effectively lost the tournament.

As a punishment for unprofessionalism and being a "amateur prize hunter", Naniwa was kicked out of Code S.
Any takes on this? I personally think it's an overreaction.

In other news, Idra and Sen have been invited to Code S.

Huh, sounds like when Justin Wong got an EVO season yellow card for using Phoenix on point and people thought he underperformed on purpose for one of his friends to place better.

I think it's stupid, players should have the option to give up when they don't think they can win. I mean, sure, you won't improve by not trying your best and not playing, but sometimes you just feel like you can't win even if you do your best, it happens. Of course, it could get abused and some players may give up on purpose to split the prize cheddar or stuff like that (it happened a lot in the Smash community and a bit in the FGC). But he at least played, even if he didn't try to win. I think it's an overreaction. It's too strict.

What's Code S?

Basically the most prestigious group a starcraft player can end up in.

Code S and Code A are part of the league system the GSL in Korea uses, which I frankly don't fully understand myself. Think of Code S as the major league and Code A as the minor league. To get in, players have to earn points in a ranking system, or be invited by Gomtv, the host of the tournament.

For the Naniwa thing, it's a bit of a cultural clash, since man-on-man competition is "sacred" and throwing a match is "dishonorable" in Korea.

Yay starcraft!
I quit playing sc 2 half a year ago but I still occasionally watch some mlg and gsl finals. I've gotten sucked into the broodwar scene and it is so fun to watch despite being a 10+ year old game. If people don't already know, teamliquid is probably the best source for all things starcraft in the foreigner scene. There's alot of streams and such to watch there for both sc 2 and scbw.

I think throwing matches has become an incredibly sensitive subject in the korean scene due to the savior incident.
Everyone involved in the incident have had all their titles, prizes and such taken away and their official records have been pretty much removed. It's as if they never existed- the commentators in Korea never mention them or anything.

Despite the fact that Naniwa throwing the match did not benefit him or anyone financially or in any other way, I guess they decided they needed to make an example of it to remind people that match throwing is still a big no no.

Savior, his real name Ma Jae Yoon, was a pro zerg player in BW. He won 3 msls and 1 osl, neither tournament has an equivelant in sc 2 yet. It was where the best of the best competed, it is considered the most prestigious tournament in starcraft. He is still regarded as one of the best zerg players in history by many, and he created the foundations for modern zvt in broodwar.
This is my favourite article written about his achievements http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmes ... _id=226236
He became more than a player- he became an icon.

I think it was in 2010 that it was revealed that there was a series of match fixes in televized games. Players would be paid to throw their matches for betting sites, and I think it uncovered that Ma Jae Yoon was the mediator between the players and the shady people.
This was a huge scandal in Korea due to the number of people involved in it and the fact that savior was involved in it made it worse. Every player involved were given life time bans from competitive gaming by KESPA and criminally charged. Savior got a 2 year suspended sentence.
The outcome of this was I think viewer ratings for BW dropped by almost half and it hit the korean bw scene pretty hard.

Wow, that's terrible.

EDIT: The article is pretty interesting though.

Finished the article, wow savior was something else already, a real master tactician.

An amazing footage of artosis, tasteless and day9 in 2005 wcg. All three passionate bw american players who would become three very important people for the starcraft scene in the west. This is where the legend of the storm observer tasteless began, and this is where day9 proved himself to be the best american zerg.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0fV5KAD ... _embedded#!

Also watching the daily 100 by day 9 is amazing to watch in conjunction with this. He tells you his side of the story at this event. So much passion, effort and emotion dedicated by each of them. It is amazing to listen to how it all started for the group of most respected guys in the western scene.

Time for competitive scene resuuuults
SC2 Blizzcup finals- mma4:3DRG
Probably the most anticipated and entertaining final of the year for sc 2.
DRG, the zerg ace for MVP and has been hailed by many as the zerg king who will replace nestea soon. His results this year in both individual and team leagues has certainly lived up to the hype. Before his debut in sc2, he used to be a b teamer for CJ entus- a bw pro team that has produced extremely strong zerg champions such as Savior.
MMA, called by fans the son of the emperor, is no stranger to pedigree. MMA was a former SKT1 team member. SKT1 was founded by none other the emperor of terran, boxer. This team has produced a number of great terrans such as Oov and fantasy. With the release of sc 2, Boxer- a king now a shadow of his former self and outshadows by his heirs, moved over to sc 2 with a renewed hunger for victory and the players he took under his wing in his new journey included MMA.
For fans watching MMA's multi tasking, drops and his bio control, it is impossible to dismiss the likeliness to boxer in his prime. Has Boxer picked another protoge that will be the leading player for terrans like Oov did?
The match went on to the very last set, with MMA emerging as the victor.

BW Proleague
SKT 1:3 Khan
Another upset in this season as SKT1 suffers its second defeat in a row. SKT, a huge favourite for this season, suffered their second defeat of the season to the hands of Samsung Khan. Despite Fantasy's impressive comeback victory over Reality, the SKT protoss line was over powered by the Khan counterparts.

Airforce Ace 2:3 Stx Soul
STX soul, the favourites to be in last place have won their first game following the close fought match against airforce ace. Even with Piano's first tvt win in like 2 years, airforce ace fell short of their second victory of the season when Iris failed to defeat Last. Now with stx and ace at one wins each, it means that last year's champions KT rolsters are the only team without a win this season.

so i decided to try terran in a 2v2 game because i'm in 2v2 silver and i want to get better at terran

my partner basically built a refinery first thing, hadn't even finished his supply depot by the time i had barracks, when a probe came to scout he pulled ALL his SCVs off of his mineral line to chase it even though i was sending a marine to kill it, and after they attacked us he just said "brb"

AND I THOUGHT I WAS HORRIBLE AT TERRAN
