Now my Wii won't turn on. ;_;

I think maybe the problem is that the game disc I'm using is cursed. It's Baten Kaitos (a GameCube disc). I played it a couple years ago and it wiped out my entire memory card twice (at about the same point in the game), so I know it's the game's fault; no other game did that.

So now my Wii won't turn on and the Baten Kaitos disc is stuck inside, spreading its evil curse throughout the wiring and trapping it into a perpetual coma.

Isn't that kind of shooting yourself in the foot..?

The wii uses an external gamecube emulator to play gcn games, so the games run exactly as they did on the original gamecube. In your case the corrupted data on the dvd-rom messed up the bios of your wii. Unlike the gcn, the wii has flash based bios instead of a rom bios, so your defective game basically messed up your wii's software config somehow when on the gamecube it wrote a bunch of bs on the memory card. From experience :cry: I know it won't boot if it's base config file is missing or corrupted, but i've never seen a wii just stop completely working because of a defective game. Is the standby led on the front come on when you plug it in?

OR you could reset the adapter. His idea was too complicated.

You could unplug the ac/dc adapter for 15 minuites and plug it back in and see if the internal surge breaker died, but if it doesn't work try buying a new ac adapter.

# Unplug/remove all accessories from the system (including game discs, SD Cards, memory cards, Nintendo GameCube controllers, hookup cables, the AC Adapter, and Sensor Bar) from the outlet and Wii.
# Let the system rest for about 90 seconds. While you're waiting, check to see that controller cords, AC Adapter, and Stereo AV cables/Component Video cables are not frayed or have exposed wires (this can cause the system to shut off); if so, you should replace those parts.
# After the 45 seconds, Plug the AC Adapter into the system and wall outlet. Check to see if the power light on the Power button comes on.

* If the system works, plug ONE accessory into your system starting with the Sensor Bar, then turn the system on to see if it still works. Repeat this process with ONE accessory at a time. If your system doesn't work once you put a particular accessory in (Sensor Bar, GameDisc, Nintendo GameCube controller, Memory Card, SD Card, etc.), there may be something defective with that accessory.
* If the power does not come on, a repair will be necessary. Because it is not possible to determine which item (Wii console or A/C Adapter) needs repair, please call our Consumer Service Department at 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options, or click here to e-mail us.
