Thanks, I was tired and couldn't think of the right phrase. Since everyone says most seqeuls ruin the franchise I supposed it might. I would prefer a prequel, so we could see more about how the mysterious things of the game came to be in Okami's world, like

[spoiler] That gate that sends you into the past and why some random alien chick had a spaceship under that bamboo garden.[/spoiler]

I'd say a sequel would be a good thing, considering it was left wide open in the original ending.

[spoiler]Well, since the point of the game was to get all of Ameratsu's powers back, defeat the evil in whatever that lands name was (I can't believe I already forgot) and getting the ark out of the ice, it was pretty much settled. Letting you run around the Celestial Plain would have been awesome though.[/spoiler]

The only thing that can ruin the original with a sequel would be yourself.

Just enjoy the fucking thing.

For that matter, one of the ending songs is something along the lines of see you in the sequel.

RUDE. If it sucks it sucks. I'm just saying cause the game was so wrapped up there's not much to continue. Probably they'll just redo it all. A new evil, Waka will probably be your partner instead of Issun, and you'll have to help other gods get their powers back instead of yours.

I get what people are saying about made by similar people, but remember, these aren't similar people, its Capcom. In the companies 30 year history, they have had a grand total of two games (not franchises, games) with good writing (Killer 7 and the aforementioned Okami). And can you imagine the sort of twist they'd make for an Okami sequel? These are the people who gave us "your right hand comes off?" and "btw, your we killed your wife to give you powers".

Without Clover, there's very little chance of the other being anything other than a train wreck. And since Clover work for Sega.....

and since Sega now works for Nintendo and Capcom works for nintendo...

Sega are the only people who seem to be throwing actual gamers a bone on the Wii, but thats hardly the only place they're showing us love. Bayonetta, Yakuza 3, the Genesis collection, Alien vs. Predator.....

Hell, considering how daisies cool some of this stuff is, you could make a convincing case they're working for Sony.
