The problem is that, with a lot of games, the Japenese voices aren't really that much better. They just sound better because you can't understand what they are saying.
If not understanding what the person is saying is enough to make it so every character doesn't sound heavily brain damaged, that's good enough for me as far as I'm concerned.
Actually, I kind of take back what I said. I realized you were primarily talking about RPGs, and RPGs generally have a
really bad localization, for some reason, barring the big budget ones like FF and things like that. Not to mention a lot of older, PS1 era games had voice acting that was
hilariously bad. I just hate it when people say that Japenese voices are
always better, no matter how good the English voices are.
On-topic:
The perfect game for me would have no cutscenes. There would be a story, but it would be told without cutscenes, sort of like Portal and (to a lesser extent) Half-Life. I really have no idea what the rest of it would be like. I'm not even sure about the "no cutscene" thing. The thing is I'm really open to what a game can be like, and as long as it does it well I usually like it.
So, yeah, I have no idea what the perfect game for me would be like, but I can tell you that it would be
really good.
