got the game as a gift after getting hooked on the demo alone

more fun than i could have imagined, honestly. been running dual swords, because sword and shield is too default and switch axe is too slow.

friend of mine uses hunting horns, we did a few rounds against the gore in the demo before i decided it was fun enough to own, and infinite stamina is fucking insanely OP on them. the jump attack is fantastic, demon dance is baller as fuck, just everything about the moveset is great.

now if only i could get enough malalach... macala... macklemore ore to make the dual chainsaws, get that electric damage goin.

My copy of MH4U is still in the mail...stupid federal holiday. Hopefully, I'll be getting it in a couple of days.

If anyone wants to know, I main the Switch Axe. I also plan on learning the Insect Glaive and Light Bowgun.

oh no screw that I hate Najarala so goddamn much, I know I'm being super salty but that OHKO coil attack is such bullshit
don't even get me started about the lack of head smashin's

its head is so high up and my hammer can only reach so far

two mounts and it's head is broken

and it dosen't have an OHKO attack??? at least not at any point i've been to

edit: also it's a unique monster with a unique moveset and a unique fight so honestly even if it did it'd still be one of the best fights

idk I've only ever fought it once and as soon as I beat it I said "never ever again"
of course I'm gonna have to fight it again real soon

I dunno if the coil attack is actually OHKO, the two times it happened to me I instantly carted and I'm pretty certain I had A LOT of health at the time
(still need to get used to mounting, I am really good at jumping towards a monster and landing a hit about a foot away from where I should've)

are you taking about when he coils around you and starts biting at you????

that's his pinning move, you have to mash buttons to get out of it. it barely does any damage if you actually mash.

and the best mounting weapons are dual swords, in demon/archdemon mode, using your B dash at a ledge makes you fly off it horizontally slashing a whole bunch. every hit with those slashes counts as a jump attack. pressing X at any point before you touch the ground makes you go diagonally downwards and slash even more, and if you hit the ground you'll keep moving. every single hit in that combo counts as a jump attack and it's insane.

also just jump attacks off smaller ledges work really well, most places have at least ONE spot you can hop off of.

there isn't even a meter that pops up, he just spins around and around you, gradually getting tighter and tighter until you die

or maybe I'm just really dumb and wasn't paying attention to my healthbar and need to git gud

there actually super is a meter, it's smallish and red and at the bottom of the screen.

that's the only move he has that can even come close to OHKO.



unless you just need to upgrade your armor, what are you using

I'm using Velociprey

It's odd because it's not a QTE like Rathian/Rathalos's pin attack. He spins around but you can still run and use your weapon and attack him. I keep trying to aim for his head to stun him and escape but he's a cheeky bastard and spins right as my hit's about to land. Guess I just gotta try and hightail it outta there right as it starts happening

Edit: Just watched a video of the fight, it isn't a pin attack. He spins around you and then burrows into the ground. If he hits you with it, it takes about 75% of your health bar. It's crazy powerful

I don't really like Zinogre, stuns on a monster that already has good combos are annoying.

it's super awesome, makes super awesome weapons, and it's baller, and i love it and it's like easily my favorite fight

As a Lance user Najarala is so, so annoying. Every daisies time I charge at it it decides to surround me, at which point it's a pain getting out without losing health or getting pinned. And every time I charge to get a jump attack on it it uses that roar or explodes those daisies scales.

Mind you, I was running very low on healing items at the time, so my perception might have been warped. Right now I'm up to taking down the Gore Magala. I seem to have more trouble with him when he's not glowing purple and junk, though.

first off: upgrade that velociprey/think about getting a different set. it's solid armor but if you're not upgrading it then it's not gonna last you

and THAT attack??? seriously??? you just sheathe and run out, under his head. it doesn't even do that much damage if it hits you, i was using nerscyllia armor against him before i upgraded to cephalos, and nothing he ever did took more than maybe 20% of the bar.
