You mean the grunting, whistling, burping noises the characters made instead of talking?

Bring back Grant Kirkhope to do all the voices.

Maybe DK64 HD?

Okay I didn't think of this before but for the record I'm pretty sure they can't make a remake of the game without the company itself (not just the human developers) that developed the original, meaning Rare. Meaning Microsoft. Not to say that wouldn't be A-OK with them since it's Nintendo's IP (seeing as the Country and Land games are now on the Virtual Console), but Playtonic isn't Rare, much like BRB isn't Naughty Dog and Comcept isn't Capcom. Playtonic working with Nintendo (and possibly Retro) to make a whole new 3D Donkey Kong game, however, is also a possibility.

if they want it to be a true spiritual successor to BK the characters should speak in gibberish with text boxes

Never owned any of the Banjo-Kazooie games, as I could only rent the N64 games at the time and I don't own an Xbox360, but the footage seen so far looks rather promising, and plenty of people on the internet seemed positive about the BK 64 games, so I'm looking forward to see how this turns out.

Already funded after like 30 minutes of going live, that's kinda insane.

Final stretch goal is pretty much guaranteed to be hit by next week, it is most definitely going to have a worldwide system-wide release.

Oh my god I am SO EXCITED FOR THIS.

Kickstarter just passed £600,000 a few seconds ago.

The music samples - holy Banjo-Kazooie nostalgia. The music is so good.

Side note:
I really miss 3D platformers. You don't see very many of them around these days. Sure, Nintendo puts one out every like 3 years, and Sega... does whatever they do, but there just aren't enough decent ones. Now if you want 2D platformers, you can punch an indie developer in the jaw and they will bleed 2D sidescrolling platformers and defecate 2D sidescrolling platformers and their teeth that you knock out will turn into 2D sidescrolling platformers before they even hit the ground. There were like two notable 3D platformers in the last like six years.

What's more we've already had Chris Sutherland - part time programmer, full time voice actor extraordinaire - locked in the recording booth to bring his iconic 'gibberish' style to the characters (and googly-eyed objects) of Yooka-Laylee, ensuring a genuine audio treat. You might as well play it with your eyes closed, to be honest.

HYYYYPE!

£775,000 stretch goal reached!

Exclusive character designs from ex-Rare guest artists Kev "Kong" Bayliss and Ed "Mumbo Jumbo" Bryan. Hooray!

Also that's £600,000 more than the original goal.

Fuck me, they just hit £900,000. We'll be at £1,000,000 before the thing has been up a day.

The music samples

it's like I'm listening to original Benjo-Kazoobles music from levels which didn't make it into the final game.

I think I'll back the third lowest tier, so I can secure myself a download code for the console version.
