I just.... I'm sorry, guys, I don't see why everyone is so in love with A Link Between Worlds. Maybe there's just too many things it does that bother me personally. Also why is everyone except Angie essentially ignoring Fire Emblem: Awakening? That game was freaking fantastic.

Gotta Go Fast: Best Portable Game

Shin Megami Tensei 4.

iValve: Best App-esque Game

Went Back For Second Helpings: Games You Had To Play Again

Morrowind. Been playing it a lot more lately, if only to complete the main questline for the first time instead of random dicking around in Daedric ruins.

The Lamprey: Best DLC

Knife of Dunwall for Dishonored. I finished the Dishonored game, wanted more, and the DLC said "Sure thing, and we'll even make a few alterations so it feels fresh again," and it was good.

This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things: Biggest Disappointment

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis. That fucking ending. I was so close to taking the disc out of the console and smashing it to pieces with a hammer. Never before has a game made me hate it and the developers who made it so utterly. It committed the worst sin a story can do: it blatantly told me everything I did in the game was completely pointless. Game Over. Fuck you.

SUDDENLY I AM 10 AGAIN: Holy Shit This Game is Radical/Badass/Tight!

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. There is nothing like spending all your points in magic and unleashing a lightshow of apocalyptic proportions every time you meet a group of baddies.

I'll Wake Your Wind, Baby: Best Soundtrack/Piece of Music

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Every single time a dragon appeared and THAT music began to play, pumping me up to accomplish the impossible.

It's Dangerous To Go Alone: Best Game Quote

I know there was a really good one but I can't recall what it was. Pretty sure it was from SMT IV though.

Lord of The Plot: Best Story

So far this is shaping up to be SMT IV.

Wii Music: The Game That Didn't Meet Your Expectations

Again, Divinity 2: Ego Draconis.

The Triumph Forks: The Game That Exceeded Your Expectations

Orcs Must Die 2. I didn't know what I was getting into when I played it for the Steam cards to drop, but it was pretty fun. The wand made it like an FPS and learning to place traps was fun all to itself. Also the Darksiders series in general, though I liked Darksiders 1 so much more than 2.

Into the Trash: The Game That Should Not Have Been Released

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis.

I Never Knew I Needed This: The Odd Game That Hooked You

Toss-up between Bastion and Rogue Legacy, but I'm going with Bastion. I rarely play through a game twice just to see different endings when I can't make different save files to speed up the process. But I did it with Bastion to get them both. And yes, I saved Zelf both times.

I'm Your Biggest Fan: Game You Stalked And Obsessed Over

Skyrim easily.

So This Is Hell: Best Balls Busting Game

Rogue Legacy. Still have not beaten the first boss.

You're Thinking Too Much: Best Gaming Related Comic (Site or Strip)

Awkward Zombie and the Nowi strip. You know the one.

Playing Games Is Too Tedious: Best LP or LPer

BirgirPall.

Mario Party Ruins Friendships: Most Competitive Multiplayer Game

Borderlands 2.

Social Link, Go!: Best Multiplayer Game

World of Warcraft. I actually played some Arenas this year!

The Cake Is A Lie!: Best Game From Another Year You Just Played This Year

Fallout: New Vegas.

It's Your Kids Marty!: Game Most Hyped For In 2014+

Bravely Default for the 3DS and maaaaayyyyybe Witcher 3. Big maybe.

Golden Egg: Best cheddar Spent

Skyrim Legendary edition for $20.

Magic Beans: Worst cheddar Spent

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis. Yes it was with a gift card I got from a class-action suit against Gamestop, but still.

I Remember Like It Was Yesterday: Fondest Memory

The time I dropped a Dwemer cog in the middle of Riften in Skyrim and a priestess murdered a beggar to get it in full view of a gathered crowd.

And now the obligatory ones...

The Year of Luigi: Best Nintendo Console Game

Shin Megami Tensei IV.

One Step Forward, X Steps Back: Best Microsoft Console Game

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Springfield's Yellow People: Best PC Game

Also Skyrim.

Goatee Eye At: Best Game 2013

Skyrim.

Wizard Level: Estimated Hours Spent Playing Games

Couple hundred. Probably more.

Inventory Screen: # of Games Purchased

I was very bad this year and got about twenty new games through various Humble Bundles, Steam sales, and gifts.

I really liked FE:A, but it's kinda one of those games that got outclassed a lot in specific categories, and, for me, I still haven't finished it so it'd feel kinda wrong to place it sometimes.

I really should finish it, but I've been kinda busy. Same with Shin Megami Tensei 4.

That ended up being pretty disappointing for me. Combat ended being the same old mindlessly spamming attacks of most RPGs and the story and lore didn't manage to hold my interest. I ended up dropping it halfway through and have considered going back to finish it but it doesn't really compel me.

The gameplay sure wasn't anything to write home about, but the story ended up being compelling enough for me to complete every questline. I mean the game starts with you coming back to life and through your very existence you are erasing the idea of fate for everyone you come into contact with. The ending felt a tad bit forced, but I accepted it in stride because the consequence of the ending more than made up for it.

Anyone who doesn't think The Last Of Us is the GOTY is a bad person, and probably likes to punch kittens.

It was a very good and solid game, I liked it but it didn't bring enough news to the gameplay-table to take GOTY for me.

I personally like it because I never really played A link to the Past, I'd say its great for those who want to get into the series more traditional roots.

Really, it just comes down to opinions, some people like a game that others hate.

Well. Most hyped over for 2014 is most definitely Project Spark, a small Xbox and windows 8 release that no-one but me seems to know about. Best game quote...well it's not from this year, but I've got 2-one from a game (Skyrim) and one from a youtube series (Hellsing Ultimate Abridged) (1) "Well, when I say "fetch" what I really mean is delve into a dangerous ruin in search of an ancient stone tablet that may or may not actually be there." That, and Alucard's "Fuck you, that's how." just can't compete with anything I've heard in the Past two years (in terms of Hilarity).

And I will NOT GO QUIETLY INTO THE NIGHT whilst people people STILL criticize the XBox One! Just because you don't understand How it works, doesn't mean it's automattically a bad system! Do your research First, god dangit!

EDIT: Also KoA: Reckoning was effing Amazing. Say what you want, it changes nothing. That game is better than any shooter I've ever played, and ranks up with games like Skyrim and Dark Souls for me.

What would those be, may I ask? I compared KoA, Skyrim, and Dark Souls. I'm pretty sure that those are all RPGs, unless I've missed something...

Different types of media with different types of exposure and different types of audiences. I don't think your analogy is valid.

Yeah it's not like we've heard that kind of witty banter in other games before (swearing is funny guyz).

Surely you jest.
