So far I have three Exotic items. One of them, The Last Word, I got through sheer luck after decoding a legendary engram. The other two I got through hard work. The Sunbreaker gauntlets I earned through getting enough Strange Coins to buy them from Xûr. The shotgun, Invective, was after a chain of really tough bounties. I had to complete 5 strikes without dying, then get a 25 K/D spread in a Crucible match, and then I had to complete a weekly Heroic Strike. That last one was goddamn painful; killing Sekrion while having to deal with those Hobgoblin snipers took intense patience.
I'm saving my coins for when an Exotic Scout Rifle comes around. Right now I'm working on charging up the Thorn Hand Cannon. I've got to keep getting kills with Void element weapons and attacks. It's a good thing I'm a Warlock; the Nova Bomb is super useful for this. A good shot on a well-populated control point gives me a lot of progress.

I was genuinely surprised when I first heard Nathan Fillion in it as the Hunter Vanguard.
Also, running Vanguard Tiger strikes really nets you a ton of engrams. What I usually do with my engrams is save them in my Vault and then decode them all at once. That way I'm not sorely disappointed when it's just another Rare item; I usually get Strange Coins and Motes of Light, which are good for something at least. And I usually go up another reputation level with the Cryptarch, so then I get a few more I can use. Speaking of Motes of Light, I wish there were more things for me to spend them on.
I have an idea on how Bungie can make just playing the game more worthwhile: Community Bounties. Basically, each week, there's a specific list of goals that the community at large can work towards in a broad range of activities: patrols, strikes, raids, PvP matches etc. and once those goals are met, every player that contributed a significant amount toward that goal (let's say, played 20 matches of Rumble PvP or killed 200 enemies in Strikes) gets two Legendary Engrams. Consolation prizes for contributing but not meeting the bounty goal would include a stack of Strange Coins and/or a few Rare Engrams.
That, and possibly a Horde/Survival mode where the more waves you survive, the higher the chance that enemies will drop Engrams.

Bumping because The Taken King is coming soon and it's apparently going to breath new life into the game, they're overhauling a lot of things in Destiny and making some aspects of the game more refined and worth playing. It's essentially Destiny 2.0. This vid goes over a few changes to the base game that I think will be really darn great considering I don't play much crucible, but love playing strikes and stuff.
There's also going to be new modes for PVP, one where supers recharge VERY fast, it's essentially this game's chaos mode, there's also a new mode called "Rift" that has you moving a spark which is essentially a ball you carry to a rift that the enemy team is defending. It's basically crucible's Capture the Flag.
There are obviously new weapons, one of these being sword weapons that take the heavy weapon slot, they require ammo to use, but act exactly like a sword a knight would drop, and if I recall correctly, I think I saw a new pistol secondary which was bodaciously just a regular colt m1911 with a silencer, but that's not the biggest part of the DLC.
I don't think I gotta say this, but there are new subclasses for all 3 types of guardians. Sunbreakers are Titans who use a flaming hammer and are essentially bladedancers, but Titans. Warlock's get Stormcaller. Now you too can become Emperor Palpatine! Finally is Hunter's getting Nightstalker, where they get a bow that locks down nearby enemies wherever the shot lands.
Aaaand finally, there is a new map featuring a Dreadnaught owned by Oryx, the main baddy of the expansion, father of Crota from The Dark Below, and essentially, he's a god in this game. Fun. He'll be featuring a new raid in this game, and I believe there will be new strikes featured too. Oryx is also taking other enemies to create the Taken, enemies that work like older ones used to, but now have certain twists that offer a new challenge (For example, Taken Psions can multiply.)
I'm hyped as fuck for this, can't wait to run around with a big flaming hammer.
I'm excited. They are genuinely stepping their game up to provide a compelling experience beyond what was simply good, satisfying gunplay in Year One. I just hope they provide high-impact low-fire-rate Scout Rifles to use; those are my favorite. The Badger CCL and A.1F19X-RYL are some of my most cherished pieces of firepower.

So great to view those videos posted. So interesting and I am excited with the weapons they are carrying with, so high powered. Very amazing I would to play this game soon.
Hey there! So Destiny 2 is now an officially revealed thing!
I'm pretty hyped since I've been playing since The Dark Below, and I'm loving what I'm seeing right now. So far, loads of streamers were invited to a huge reveal event where they got to play two different pieces of content. One was a new gamemode called "Countdown" which plays exactly like Call of Duty's Sabotage, and the other was a new, Vex-focused Strike called The Inverted Spire.
There's so much new and revised gameplay elements to Destiny 2 that it'd be difficult to write into a post without it being an essay long. So for now, I hope some of you find interest in the gameplay shown to possibly consider picking the game up.
By the way, it's going to be on PC at 60 FPS uncapped with 4k support, it looks like they're legit going all out for the PC port at the cost of it getting a later release date. The PC version of Destiny 2 will actually be released on Blizzard's Battle.net service, totally not Activisions attempt to move keep the game away from Steam.
