Lately, I've felt bad for the defenseless characters I kill/attack in video games. One example of this is in GTA4, when people I've shot limp away wounded. Another good example is Call of Duty World at War, specifically, the Russian campaign (If you've played it, you'll know what I mean).

And NOW, they're going to force teachers to educate us on the matter, because everything a parent is to lazy to do, is expected to be done by the teacher.

That's actually why I started this thread. My teacher gave us a bunch of questions on a sheet to answer, and one said: "How would you solve the problem of mature games being bought by kids?"

I asked my teacher "I don't actually really consider this a problem...can I answer it in a different way?"

My teacher:

No.

Anything and everything can effect children in different ways, some good, some bad, even video games. It's naive and moronic to single out games alone, though. During the 60-70 they believed rock and roll to be the devil's music, and were turning their children into rebellious, anarchy-driven sodomites. So much for that. It's just people need a scape goat, and because now-a-days, most adults are those who actually listend and loved rock and roll, they need to find a NEW scape goat.... henceforth, video games.

Something new will come out within the next few decades that will draw attention away from games, since most adults during that time will be people who play and enjoy games and will have taught people it's no different from rock and roll, and that new thing will become the new scape goat, and so on.

It's a cycle, people always need a scape goat, and not just in terms of pop culture but everyting else in life. It's all just part of humanity, part of who we are, part of what makes me ashamed to be human sometimes.

Oh hey, weren't you paying attention everybody? Merlin's already said something so there's nothing more to discuss. Thread over.
BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS BUTTS.

Anyway, Fauche, you're absolutely right. Well said.

Maybe we should try playing devil's advocate, come up with the typical counter argument a parent/teacher/lawyer/politician would use, and see if we can't come up with a solution for Unbalanced's assignment.

That is if it isn't too much effort.

Violence on VG's + crime = PHAIL
Violenc in VG's + me = PHAIL

Basically, it's ridiculous to forbid it, but i don't like gory games. Specially when your playing a fun shooter with a nice gameplay and suddenly you kill someone and his organs blow around, i'm always like '...-drops control and pukes-

I was raised by a pacifist, so I never got to like it. Halo isn't that gory, some likey 8D.
