Oh you can get rid of securom if you know what you're doing. Uninstall games associated with it, disconnect from intarwebs to prevent interference, then delete all files and registry keys associated with securom. If it doesn't let you, there are methods you can take to work around that.

Just because there's no option to uninstall doesn't mean you can't get rid of something.

I doubt it. If you're referring to securom, it's in the EULA.

You know, that thing they ask you to read and then accept before you install shit that no one ever actually reads? That's where they cover their asses with that sort of thing. By clicking/checking/whathaveyou "I accept the terms of the license agreement" or any variation thereof and installing the software you are stating that you have read and agree to all terms laid out within the EULA whether you read it or not. Installing the software IS (since you have to accept the EULA to do so) giving your consent for securom to be installed on your computer.

It's still something EA should have told you about outside of the license agreement. I mean, what if some little kid has divorced parents, and he decides to install it on both of their computers? Then he goes over his friend's house and installs it on that?

Come to find out, his mom and dad decided to uninstall it because they needed more memory. Now he's stuck and has to call EA for a recharge. (No, unlike BioShock, uninstalling doesn't refund an install.)

It's like paying $50 to RENT a game. It's stupid.

Also, I have more reasons to hate Spore. They removed some of the more interesting features, and dumbed it down in many places. (For example, removing the planned sandbox feature ENTIRELY, and leaving you to play just one phase at a time. No option to go back.)

Which isn't a Pokemon.

srsly

Vaelor, still waiting on your Spore username!

That's Mass Effect.

Have I mentioned that, in some cases, it's caused people to have to reformat their entire hard drive because it started interfering in other processes?[/quote]
That's Sims 2.

Hence why Maxis used a modified version of SecuROM.

That's not reading the Terms and Conditions.

And that's the Internet.

Oh heavens no! You mean you actually have to CONTACT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING to get it working? What is the meaning of this?!

And that's still Mass Effect. Find me a problem with Spore's SecuROM alone, then we'll talk.

What planned sandbox feature? They had loads of sandbox things in Spore! I don't know they had planned just one...

...umm, kay, what? The game allows for multiple savegames in the same galaxy, and once you unlock a phase, you can start a new savegame from that phase anytime you want.
Heck, if you use console commands, you can unlock all stages straight away!

I have 2,000 creations automatically downloaded so far at random. I have yet to find a dickcreature among them, and I search through recently downloaded stuff to remove the crappy ones.
In other words, you've been spending too much time at 4Chan, and EA have been swifter at moderating than you would've liked.

That's the other reason I don't like people complaining about these kinds of Copy Protection software: it actually only affects a small amount of computers. Otherwise there'd be no way such software would ever be sold.

Ah yes, the good old Mega Laser. The third most useful weapon in the game.
The second being the Planetbuster. Nothin' quite like turning an entire planet into small rocks in an instant. Only it's pretty expensive for each shot, so it's only second.

The first being the Gravitational Wave, the Scientist weapon. Completely destroys all cities and colonies on a planet! And the best part is that not only is it completely free, but you get it at the very start of the Space stage if you do things right!

You obviously haven't played as a zealot yet have you?
Their special weapon is like, convert the entire freacking planet
So that means that you get the planet, no matter how big the population!
But, I fucking hate galactic code

'course allies don't do much anyway, sept get in your way

New Patch Tiem!
The most important part being that other Empires don't charge as big a tariff, and attacks and disasters are less likely to occur.

Also, there's a mod on Spore.VG that allows you to place Asymmetrical pieces on your creatures now.
For example:
ImageImage
It comes in a .Package file (which you put in the Data folder of the Spore directory), but in return you can't put down symmetrical pieces until you remove the .Package file from that folder.
Oh, and the resulting creations do work in regular games too.
