In general yes when you take enough damage you die.
and yes, sniper is one of the classes than can take down a heavy and is a counter to him, because guess what, every class has classe
s designed to kill them.
However a heavy is also incredibly massive because he has stupid high HP and most people will die trying to fight him head on if he's got the minigun spinning and ready, so no, not everyone can kill them as easily as a sentry or sniper could.
and scouts are fast, which, ha, helps them avoid rockets and bombs
they can't really avoid a sentry
Pyro is really only totally countered by snipers and engineers also, as it's mostly acting as a very good mid-range character, and sniper and engineer are the two classes very good at stopping mid-range characters.

yes, it's a correct thing to say, but it's also incredibly useless to point out.
Every class beats
every class if you're paying enough attention. If someone had perfect reflexes and was aware of everything at all times it doesn't matter what class they are they are going to win.
however this isn't a thing a human can do

Pomson is OP and everyone knows it, but an uber is gonna destroy the sentry, and thus the engineer, too quickly for it to even matter. At point blank range, a heavy can just barely out DPS a sentry. One second of ubercharge is enough to make it count and matter, and the medic should NOT be close enough to get hit with the pomson otherwise.
Rescue Ranger is easily beaten because to be useful the Engineer has to be far away, and that means outside protection from their sentry, with a
really shitty primary. Kill the engie, anyone can kill the sentry.
