If the person really wants to keep coming back, their going to be willing to pay for the donator status. If you truly find a server you like, like I did with no heroes back in the day, you'll be willing to pay. I'm sorry I am not stroking your e-peen by not letting you sit on my server with your broke booty while a paying customer is waiting outside to get in. And I will be getting more servers the more paying customers I get. In the end there will be 5-6 servers, one covering each major game mode (ctf, payload, koth, cp, etc) and a x10 randomizer. There will be plenty of servers for you to go to if you get kicked off one with your brokeness, trust me. Or you could just go and play on a valve server, your choice.

I would never pay for a server that I don't own. There's no point, you can easily find another server that won't kick you.

Hienz, dude. Calm down. Not everyone is willing to pay for servers and it's understandable.

In my opinion, a server costs maintenance which needs to get covered each month, or no more server. Thus, it is reasonable to allow a "VIP," or whatever you wish to call them, who pay a little for the server. However, one needs to try and be fair to those who are not paying, so perks need to be reasonable.

Here are what I consider possible "VIP" perks that servers could use while attempting to be fair towards those not supporting the server:
Reasonable possible perks for "VIPs" (to me):
1) Reserve slot (1 remaining slot open so server doesn't show as full).
2) End of Round Immunity (Doesn't affect in-game balance).
3) Color coded name (Distinguishes them from none-paying, just cosmetic).
4) Any other cosmetic perks that does not affect game-play.

Somewhat-reasonable possible perks for "VIPs":
1) Immunity to game mechanic auto-balance (when a given team has 2 or fewer players in comparison)

Other perks, such as unable to be kicked/banned, gagged, etc is not reasonable (in my opinion). That allows people to take advantage of the power they receive due to paying a little each month for an advantage. Be it able to mic spam without being gagged, trolling and abusing other players without being able to be kicked/banned. "VIP" perks should be focused upon cosmetic things that give the person supporting the server a more distinguished look. The perks should not give them ability to do things others would have been kicked/banned, or muted for. Along with attempting to keep the game play between "VIPs" and none-"VIPs" as balanced as possible.

Any other suggestions or comments are appreciated, along with what one might disagree upon of my opinion.

This is much better. Kicking someone out of the game so a donator can join isn't right.

Speaking of..
Why do 24/7 2fort servers always have the worst players on them? Not worst as they are bad at the game but ones that are just trolls, elitists, and jerks with 20 unusuals and Saxton's Own sniper rifles that complain every time someone manages to kill them.
I mean it is fun to counter-troll them. Like this sniper/donator I trolled using my Croc-o-style set, he refused to body shot me at all.
But still, what is with 2fort and these kinds of people

Also new update has "Disabled Java for the in-game web browser." which I think means no more Pinion. (Not that it bothered me since I could completely disable it)

If you have a good enough community u don't need to bribe people with perks. Brh has completely ridden on donations since 2007 and it costs about 160 a month for all our servers including other game servers like CSS and dayz

Getting a good community has a quite a bit of luck involved though, but you can definitely encourage it.

I asked because people are saying they would never pay to use a private server. Yet they'd happily play on it for free.

It's just kind of showing a bit of disparity.

That makes sense to me. If the only reason one goes to a certain server is due to the perks they get, then it isn't the server & people they go there for. In the end, if perks are given, they should be as non-influential as possible (basically just cosmetic). I recall several games where a person simple trolled and abuse their powers that they got due to donating a few bucks.

On the other end though, when servers are just starting out they typically do not have a self-sustaining community. Thus, in the beginning it is reasonable to think one would aim to find ways to attract people into them, and help counter the maintenance costs. Once they gain a good enough community, and supporters, they then can go from there in their approach. However, at no point though should there be unreasonable perks that do in fact affect the game-play, such as give the donating individuals advantage over the rest.

Cosmetic perks, such as color coding a name or text, comes off as a way to recognize and thank the individual(s) for donating to a server(s) they enjoy playing on. I see that as possible since it is free to script such and implement the script into the server without a performance loss notice.

I believe trollfort is the answer (or 42).

Were the parts removed from ones that do have them?
Are we gonna see another super-rare useless item?

Sometimes I think the economist at Valve does this just to fuck with the Mannconomy and see what happens. It's hilarious.

You realize the economist doesn't actually do anything.
He STUDIES the economy and all the stupid shit people do.
