One thing about tricks in MK7 is that you can do them off of nearly any ramp now, or bump in the road, or when something shakes the ground, so it's much easier to get those boosts. 3 of the new tracks are giant, one lap races. Everyone else got all the other points across.

You may have forgotten about the hang-gliders and underwater bits, which as far as I can tell are the biggest differences.
Also the item diversity makes a huge difference- and there's no finnicky Item stat and Snaking is nerfed to hell.

Also they killed the fake item, boo, and MKWii's 3 new items.

now i wonder why they did that. it seems silly.

For the record, Super Mario 3D Land is very good. It doesn't get really challenging though until you reach the special stages, although there are some surprisingly difficult levels along the road too. Specifically the ones that you use coins to unlock. I'm currently working my way through the special stages, and they're a lot of fun.

Ehhh I wanted to get SM3DL, but my friend got it, and I played it and I really didn't think it was all that. Plus...when I thought about it, replayability is a major factor in buying games for me...and all my Mario games similar to that I beat once and put on my shelf. And I can't imagine me playing it over and over and over again. That, plus the short game time that I've been hearing about made me change me mind about it.

So I've heard about all the cheap falls in Sonic Generations for 3DS, but would anyone say it's outright horrible? I figure I'd get more replayability out of it than I would Mario, and in the long run cheap falls wouldn't amount to much.

You know the only Mario game I've ever played was the New Super Mario Bros. game, and I hated it.
Maybe I'll give this a shot.

Well, I have finally found a game that wouldn't be too bad to get and I might actually enjoy it for all I know - Kid Icarus: Uprising. Seems cool and it comes out in about three/four months.

It's flat, boring, bland, and generally unfun.

It's pretty bad. Cheap falls aren't even half the problem. The biggest problem is that every Modern stage amounts to boost forever while everything is flat and boring, and every Classic stage boils down to Sonic 4 with better physics but no grasp of what "Classic" was supposed to mean.

Also the graphics are horrible, and it's the ONLY full 3DS game that hurts my eyes.

Okay but you like Endless Possibilities so I'll get a second opinion before I make my choice.

Eh, I'll probably hold off on 3DS games. I'm not terribly interested in anything else that's out right now.

I cannot for the life of me find the third star coin of special 1-1 in Super Mario 3D land.

EDIT: nevermind...

Finally bought one of those prepaid cards for the eshop, held off on getting the very tempting Virtual Console releases like Link's Awakening in favor of spending the entire 20$ on VVVVVV and Shantae: Risky's Revenge. I already own VVVVVV on PC but I figured I'd give the devs a little extra since I only got it through one of the indie bundles (and I want it on a handheld). I've also heard very good things about Shantae.

Next time I'll probably get some VC games, like the aforementioned Zelda and maybe Metroid II and SML2.

Beat Super Mario 3D land, along with the special stages. Got 4 stars on my file.

*checks gameFAQs to see if he missed anything*

You have to Beat every level with Mario and Luigi and get a golden flagpole on all levels to unlock the last level and get the 5th star?

Fuck that.

Does anyone mind if I jump and squeal for joy right now? You made an excellent choice. Shantae's one of the few Metroidvania games I actually enjoy.

So I went into Gamestop the other day thinking I'd buy the blue 3DS. I'm talking to the guy that works there, and I say, "I want to buy a 3DS, but I'm not sure what my first game should be"

So he says, "Well we have a Zelda bundle in the back. It just shipped in today."

Best luck ever.
