I have no clue, besides, if it was unlockable, I doubt it would already show up in the list? Even dumber when they are console exclusives in the first place.
But MAYBE I gotta? Since MogoMon and Pacman have a story. But it still wouldn't explain why they already show up in the roster, and the arcade story could just become available trough unlocking. I should check if they are selectable in Versus - which would make even less sense that you can play them in Versus but not in training mode.

PS: This game is super fun holy shit the story mode is kinda lame but it doesn't matter cause everything else is so great.

When playing as Jonathan, if you get KO'd you can use up a stock of HEAT to go, "This is my final ripple..." and get back up with a small bit of health and just spam ripple attacks without using any HEAT. Lots of little stuff like that here and there added to each character to show how much thought they put into it.

Also, BITE ZA DUSTO reverses Ultimate Cars, GER and Made in Heaven. Kira the best.

Oh that part about Bite the Dust is neat. I also noticed that if you land Josuke's GHA and the timer runs out after the healing but before the damage, Josuke still wins. Good thing they thought about that one

Really didn't expect my copy to come as soon as it did. This shit's super fun, though I wish story mode was more than just walls of text and some fights. And it's probably just because I'm blindly stumbling through it but campaign feels like it's actively trying to keep me from unlocking things.

Yeah, the story mode is pretty lame. I was hoping for at least some cg images or something (wanted cut-scenes but wasn't gonna hold my breath for them) but all they gave us is a couple lines of text against generic backgrounds. Plus it was even worse for some of the specific parts, like 6, where they aren't very many characters present, so the entire story was told in 3 fights, all with the same 2 characters. Or Part 5's story, where you had a lot of characters, but you only ever use GioGio or Bruno since they're the only two that actually fight Diavolo, who's the only Part 5 villain in the game. At this point though, that's honestly my only complaint about the game.

Haven't tried campaign mode yet, but from what I've heard its just fights against CPUs to unlock stuff, but they added the energy bar so you can only do some much at once and then have to wait for it to recharge. Apparently you can buy items in the in-game shop to recharge the bar instead of waiting, or some random events will recharge it or something. I probably won't try it until I unlock the rest of the characters (still need to do Part 7 and 8.)

Dead or Alive 5 THE ULTIMATE came out the other day. Improved netcode (from what I can tell, anyway), tweaked gameplay, 5 new characters and LOADS OF NEW COSTUMES (all caps cause it's important.) All in all a pretty good upgrade if you ask me. They also put out a free version, sort of similar to the free Tekken that's out. Online only with 6 characters and the option to upgrade to the full version. IIRC you can play against folks who own the full game, too. Give it a try if you're so inclined, though I think the free version is only available on the PS3.

Also, team battles are my favorite thing ever. Me and my buddy used to do 8v8s all the time in Soul Calibur 2 so I'm glad Team Ninja included it.

So apparently there's this game called Under Night in Birth that's good. The team behind it had an interview with a Japanese gaming magazine, and they had this to say...

Under Night In-Birth was alright but broken, however they patched all that and are including a character from one of my favourite fighting games (Akatsuki Blitzkampf) so yeah it's looking good now
