I mean you can pick pocket but only as an Assassin.

Maybe I should go ahead and just say it's nothing like Skyrim.

Well guess I'll find out more when it gets here on Tuesday. S'long as it has a good story and combat system I'll have fun. And the combat in the demo was pretty fun other than the fucking harpies as a melee character.

I know most Melee vocations have attacks that hit the air or have a really useful arc for Harpies.

Did you present all the evidence for him? You need more innocent scrolls than guilty, if you don't have enough go back to the starting town and buy innocent evidence from him.
You need like, four or five innocent pleas in total.

I didn't give him ANY guilty evidence. I only gave him the evidence from all the innocent people plus the 5 or so from that one merchant

Well just reload and try again.
By the way you get the Golden idol from showing his daughter a good time around the town. All saving him does is give you, a very modest, discount at his shop.

Just kill yourself and hit retry then, it's not too big of a loss, if you're an archer or something you miss out on the Maker's Fingers. Other than that he doesn't have that great of a stock.
It sucks though that there's only one place to get a Golden Idol though.

No you misunderstand, the game has autosaved since then and other quests have been taken. I've been trying to get the gold idol since my first playthrough and this is my third -_-

Well that sure is shit dude, but it's really not hard to get the gold idol, but you really only get one chance to grab it.

If you did the notice board quest for finding evidence inside his room, you'll need every possible piece of evidence

That's as a Strider.

Also yes, it's nothing like Skyrim at all, and only similar to Dark Souls in that it's third person and an RPG that can sometimes kill your booty.
