No. It sucked because it was full of stupid glitches, the AI sucked hard (your pals were a pain in the booty, your enemies were retarded, the combination of the two was more than frustrating), the story made no sense, the characters and monsters didn't have any charisma, the level design was uninspired at best... In short it was poorly directed, poorly developed and rushed. It has nothing to do with it being outdated, because these problems weren't commonplace in older games. Stop generalizing.

Really now... Are you going to tell us that Megaman 9 sucks because it uses an "outdated" technology?

Criticizing an FPS back then for having uncharismatic characters and a bad story smacks me of making up defects. And I'm sure the imps from Doom had just fantastic AI.

Also, where did you hear about level design?

In Doom, they didn't pretend that the game was revolutionary. Of course the imps didn't have an extraordinary AI, but at least they used it to the game's advantage by putting them in simple environments, ensuring that they would chase the character instead of getting stuck behind a wall/fence/spotlight.

The levels in this game are visually terrible, unimaginative, and uninteresting gameplay-wise, and when they tried to make it interesting (with puzzles and the like), it failed terribly because they sucked at programming.

Okay, I'm going to be very very simple here. Find me one major flaw within Daikatana that couldn't be attributed to an older, beloved FPS's

I'm gonna just state that you have sidekicks and if one of them dies you lose. and they have horrible AI so they die alot. and even if enemies in other FPSes had horrible AI that didn't cause you to lose. (at least to my knowledge, hell I've played very few FPSes)
