NEW GUILTY GEAR AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Well for the PS2 I would recommend Guilty Gear X2, Soul Caliber 1 and 2, and Tekken 5 was also a good one.

Those are the ones I played the most, anyway

To add onto this, get King of Fighters 2002: UM and KoF XI. I've blown off way more time on those than I care to admit. Also Street Fighter EX3 if you want to just mash buttons and pretend you're having fun.

Also, I'd advise playing Super Street Fighter II Turbo with people if you really want to learn the basics of fighting games.

The only Fighter I own is the SNES version of SSF2 Turbo, but I have a Gamecube, PS2, and PC. I don't think any other system I own really applies to fighters.

And I really don't have others to play with unless it was something I got on PC with online. I also have a PSP, but hahaha trying to play fighters on that seems impossible.

New GG makes me want to play the current GG.

Got myself Guilty Gear X2 Reload, turns out it has a PC port, as does Isuka, but the only one I've played is the PS2 version of XX. Not sure how good the other one is.

Wasn't Blazblue supposed to be, like, the spiritual successor to GG? I've only played Guilty Gear a grand total of once about a million years ago but I was under the impression that they played pretty similarly. Seems odd that they'd be making both a new Blazblue and new Guilty Gear at the same time.

Of course maybe I'm completely wrong IT'S HARD TO SAY.

GG fans made enough noise I guess? I like the character designs and music in GG more than BB so that's one part of it.

It was meant to be a spiritual successor due to licensing issues with Arc System Works and SEGA I think. ASW recently bought the rights back though, and the game has likely been in development not long after that.

The games actually do play pretty differently--for one thing, a different button layout (Punch, Kick, Slash, Heavy Slash, Dust as opposed to ABCD). Also the characters outside of the shotos (and even then) are radically different than BB's. And on a personal note, GGXXAC+ just feels a lot less stiff than BB does. Can't explain, but it does.

I find the characters a lot more inventive and unique in GG as well, even though some of BB's movesets are great.

I really like Jam. I just use a little combo and start using special moves ad then whups people bouncing off walls.

Speaking of GG, you could buy GGXXAC+R on PSN and XLBA. Some people've been talking about the game for people that know nothing about it.
