I started up my PS3 yesterday and I could actually fucking see things in Blighttown.
I'm on the bottom, by the way, so I'm not sure how bad it is on the scaffolds going in.
But bottom side, I could see Quelaag's Domain clearly from the Bonfire.
Hell, I could almost see the Leaches from the Bonfire.

So, I find the new content so insanely frustrating (specifically the Artorias boss fight) that I just ended up playing a different save file that had been left in pretty bad condition (in the Depths, poorly spec'd at level 21 dex Uchigatana bow-user build). I farmed for a loooooong time to upgrade all my weapons, and I also messed around with my gear slowly in the process until I achieved a very satisfying Assassin build. Longbow, a mix of Thief + Hunter armor, upgraded around +7 Longbow and Uchigatana, Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring, Hornet Ring, and this song absolutely made my day when I picked off enemies who never saw me coming, even though I was really just farming the same area.

Wow, co-op is oddly enjoyable.
I took this one guy who I think was playing the game for the first time through the entire Anor Londo castle and it made me feel like I was good at the game for a little bit. Still died to the boss, though.

IT'S A SHAME I'M STILL BAD A VIDEO GAMES.

The game has been announced. The hard part begins:
Ensuring the public that the game will not be casualized.

I am quite hyped for this game, but the risk for casualization remains.

shut the fuck up about casualization
From software games are consistently great and they said they wouldn't dull down the difficulty

It's always a possibility, Malum. From needs to show veterans of the game that they aren't giving up on presenting consistent and brutal challenges to the players, and that is the very first thing that should be on their agenda.

How does multiple interviews saying that they'll never do that, even in the same one where they basically confirmed that more content for dark souls would be released? (which we now know is DaS2)

All I'm saying is that proving it to the fans of the series with solid evidence is a key factor for this game. Saying something in an interview is one thing, but proving to people through gameplay footage is another.

Proving it through the DLC wasn't enough? You go to /v/ too much.

DLC to a game is one thing. A whole new game is different.
