They weren't punished though. They still get to play. All Blizzard did was hotfix the abilities because that was never intended. If Athene chooses to continue legitimately then he can.

However my sympathy for him is incredibly low considering he's gotten back in to the race with a four Demon Hunter team using whatever cheesed method they can pull off.

Yeah it's "not cheating" but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be hotfixed because it's broken as hell.

Just because something isn't necessarily an exploit doesn't mean it shouldn't be changed.

So I'm nearing the end of Act III on 'Hell' difficulty. Level 59 Monk, alternating between co-op and solo. Currently I've only been unable to defeat one enemy; a pack of those tongue-lashing dogs with a "Molten, Mortar, Vampiric" as their champion. Died 16 times to them before eventually absconding and not coming back.

There were a bunch of those little frog dudes in Act I on Nightmare difficulty. I don't remember what their special bonuses were, but they kept completely owning us

I thought it was pretty funny that I could beat the lord of evil, but fuck I can't handle frogs

I died to one specific scavenger in Act I like 3 times on Nightmare, it just kept handing my booty to me

Tried fighting a molten mortar devastator elite pack today. Unkillable.

I have troubles. I can't beat the game due to a driving force compelling me to beat it only with friends/other people so I keep restarting characters from different classes and before I know it I'm halfway through act 2 with a class I don't even like.
So ronery. The wizard class is actually pretty awesome.

And a friendly reminder to everyone who doesn't put gems in their empty sockets; If you like it then you should have put Arcane on it.

lvl 13 demon hunter on hardcore mode

just beat the spider queen, so far havent had much difficulty, tho there was a point where there was about 11 of those wretching cadavers in one hallway and i ended up killing like 174 fuckers. my templar buddy died like....2-3 times just because he was in the thick of it lol

yea i was on nightmare and it was lagging badly, i almost couldnt get away from an elite pack.

man spirit walk is great in nightmare, those minions of mine are almost worthless when you are with other ppl

Finally beat it. Act 4 is amazing.
Final boss was easier than I thought, but I bet nightmare will be super difficult.

Here is my endgame specs (plus a couple levels for helping a friend beat act 4)

I actually beat Diablo with my default spec that was not intended for single target DPS because I forgot to change my skills after we got lagged out during our first try

I also just wasted like 20 blacksmithing pages trying to craft rare boots, took forever to get a decent pair

Why the fuck is my level 4 wizard suddenly in Act 3?

And my Barbarian is booty-naked and missing all of his shit. What the fuck.
