I am 70+ hours into this game and I'm only at Caravan 3 and HR 2. I'm not even needlessly repeating quests. It's all for some drop that I need.

Or doing the Steak quest quickly to reset my expeditions and fishing minigame.

daisies you Plesioth, I need one more scale and you REFUSE to show up.

Could someone explain to me how the Meownster Hunter minigame works? I have no idea what's going on and then I lose.

So far I've gathered that you can use attacks with different advantages?

yeah, each color of attack is better against different colors of monsters

You can also just let it run automatically while you're on a quest if you talk to your housekeeper

It's really just rock-paper-scissors

The quest selection shows the colors you'll be up against so you can plan accordingly; if it's a red and two yellows, it'd be pointless to take any cats with red abilities etc

Yeah nobody likes Khezu

Luckily I don't think he's required to progress through the low-rank story, but he's almost always a requirement whenever you see him, so you might as well just fight him and get used to how he works.

Also keep some music to listen to on standby. Cause he has no eyes to spot you with, so the music will never play. Even though Gigginox from 3 had no eyes yet played the music whenever it spotted you goddamnit why did you bring back fucking Khezu

I did beat him but I carted and reset the game twice. Getting Pale Bones is gonna be a pain in the booty though.

Also I kept thinking that he looks like something out of Resident Evil and WOULDN'T YOU KNOW IT, both games were developed by Capcom.

This may be the only game I've ever played in my entire life where I'm actually having pretty good luck getting rare drops.

I got a Chilling Beak and Rathian Plate within 3-5 fights against the Najarala and Rathian, respectively.

Hunting two Khezus for the guild quest and Gore Magala for the caravan quest has me at AVGN levels of anger and swearing.

Let's have two Khezus get together and not leave, one roars and the other hits the players with lightning and then tackles him. Oops, you got carted? HAHAHAHAHAHA THIS IS REALLY FUCKING FAIR.

Let's have Gore Magala get rustled and do more damage than a Mega Potion can heal. REPEATEDLY. Oh, you got carted AGAIN? WOW YOU MUST SUCK BECAUSE THIS IS OBVIOUSLY REALLY. FUCKING. FAIR.

I managed to beat Al Gore Magala, but no, I don't have any fire weapons right now. I wasn't able to upgrade any of my hammers into fire weapons until I got to Volcanic Hollow for Firestones.

Shah Dala is really getting to rustling my jimmies

"What's that? You hated RNG meteors during those earlier parts of the fight? Well, for this last bit, let's have UNLIMITED METEORS TO SCREW YOU OVER!"
