Isn't Zelda just a free game instead of an ambassador game? It should come up if you search Zelda on eShop.

That could've been it too and I searched at the place with the other games and didn't find it. I can't remember that well anymore.

Zelda four swords was a free game to everyone, if that is what you mean by Zelda.

Plus, they have a singing dog that gives you music. You can't argue with that.

Is the dog called KK Slider? (I think that may be the singing dog that appears on the Animal Crossing stage in Super Smash Bros Brawl).

Sounds good, might try it if I find it cheap.

What about mr. Resetti?

Yup. He's based off of one of the music directors (or some other music position) of the games.

Mr. Resetti only appears (for the most part) if you turn your game off without saving. Save scrubbing is VERY much prohibited. The first few times you reset, he'll just yell at you for like 5 minutes (it's usually funny). After that, depending on the game, he fucks with you, saying things like how he's going to delete your file, reset your game again (even with a fake out reset screen), or he makes you write out, word for word, a long apology letter (where if you put curse words in there, he'll yell at you). The Wii version allows you to, on occasion, go to his base of operations and talk to him without getting yelled at. He also has a calmer brother that appears on occasion, but no one really talks about him.

I honestly don't know which Animal Crossing to recommend if you want one now.

The Gamecube one is awesome, but it's very unfinished compared to later ones. For instance, the game runs on Acres (which later games have, but without a transition between) and the top row always has a Train station in part 3/5, a dump, the shop, Town hall, and a pattern store (which is useless, really, unless you like making pixel art for clothing) randomly distributed among the rest. In Row 2, collumn 3 is where the 4 houses ALWAYS reside. There's almost no reason to leave the top half of your town except to find the police station and fish.
Not to mention it can only do local "multiplayer" which in this case means "one person puts a copy of their person on slot B memory card, and sticks it in the other person's gamecube to play in their town while person 2 watches"

The DS one has arguably the worst graphics of them all, due to a lack of anti-aliasing, and the general power of the DS. This doesn't really impact much, though. It added a LOT from the Gamecube one, the one that sticks out most to me being separate clothes, hat and hair. The town is almost devoid of grass, though (when I generate new ones it's small patches of grass with seas of dirt, and not vice versa.) which makes it look crummy, in my opinion. Everyone lives in one house, which is stuck somewhere random based on a question at the beginning. It gets huge though, since it's the only game so far to have side rooms. Also added were lots of furniture, some villagers, and multiplayer that actually ended up being MULTIPLAYER.

The Wii is my favorite, though. It's like the DS version, but with improved graphics (again, probably due mostly to anti-aliasing and a smidge better polygon count, but nothing too huge. Get used to one game though, and the others will look weird) more furniture and villagers, better generation (I got a fucking ISLAND in the bottom of my town once.) and the city, of course. Other than that it's not too different from the DS.
My only peeve with this one is the absurdity of grass erosion. Play for 2 weeks and your town is a desert. Never run for 3 months, and you're halfway back. This is the ONLY thing I cheat for, regrowing my grass.

The 3DS one looks awesome too, and you're more than the one guy doing all the work for no reason, you're the mayor. They brought back the train and added a bunch of other stuff, from what I can see, so I, personally, would hold out.

I would quite like a 3DS Cockfighting Society Mystery Dungeon. Right now, I am waiting till some good 3DS games come out, mostly in November due to Super Mario 64 Land and Cave Story 3D.

Yeah I'd buy that day one.
The Mystery Dungeon games are pretty much my favorite thing ever, so one of them would definitely force me to hop on the 3DS bandwagon.

I always thought the MD games got a little too samey.
And outside from the few postgame missions to get legendary pokemon, really feels empty.

Yeah admittedly they weren't great games
But I never got bored, and the stories were really great for both sets, if sort of generic.

Idunno they're just really charming games????

I'm not denying that. They certainly have their charm.
I like playing through them, though I was annoyed at the lack of shinies.
But still, after you beat the main game, and finished the postgame extras, which do last a good bit, there's nothing left. No items to collect or any way you could customize your base to add in that little extra bit to do.
It holds little replay value imo.

I don't think replay value is necessarily the term, because I was having a blast with a re-run of Red Rescue Team until I obtained Explorers of Sky (I'd already beaten Explorers of Time, for reference, so this was also replaying) and got distracted (dropped that one for perfectly legal reasons, yes).
But yeah playing after the endgame is pretty boring. I might get back into my game of Red now, though.

It's a game where I would never bother getting an illegal copy. It's something that's not a waster of cheddar and worth the purchase.
Hah, no but I did actualy buy it, and I didn't think it was worth 30-40 bucks.
