But they probably won't do it since not everyone likes AC... but I still think it'd be cool.
I don't like animal crossing... Probably cause I haven't played any version of Animal crossing. Is it a good game?
It depends. The game basically lets you run free reign over a town that's randomly generated. In the town, you get a small house (which you can expand by paying off your debt for each addition), and your neighbors are all animals (randomly selected out of over 100 different possible neighbors) with various personalities (snarky, nice, bossy, ditsy, etc.). The point of the game is basically to do what you want. You can fish, collect bugs, hunt for fossils/gyroids (little dancing cactuar-like things that make noises like instruments), or run errands for your neighbors. There's a museum where you can donate fish, bugs, fossils, and paintings to in order to fill it up and there's a store where you can sell your wares to buy new furniture/clothes or have cheddar to expand your house/better your town. Basically, it's an open world game where you can do as much or as little as you want, and it's based on a real-time clock (so when it's night where you live, it's night in your town (unless you live in the arctic or something)). There's holidays where you can collect special items/furniture that are valuable, occasionally a random NPC will visit your town and do something (like set up a black market with potentially fake paintings and rare items), and a bunch of other stuff to do. It's not a game that you'll beat easily (mostly because there's no way to "beat" it), and there's always more to do.
Plus, they have a singing dog that gives you music. You can't argue with that.
So if that stuff is something you're interested in (life simulators in general), this is a REALLY excellent series to get into, especially the DS version since you can load it up and play anywhere. The 3DS version has been rumored for a Spring 2011 release stateside though, so if you don't mind waiting, that may be more worth it to get in on that.
The only bad thing about the series (for me) is that leaving your town alone for extended periods of time can cause it to be overrun with weeds and cockroaches, and because of this, some of your neighbors may move out (and the odds are against those specific characters moving back in). So the game can make you feel like a bastard if you neglect it. Other than that, it's really good.
