Not gonna lie, DOA5 is really fun. The story is kind of stupid, but in a cheesy, 90's action movie way so it's still pretty enjoyable. I seriously fought somebody in a back alley in the Bronx and then the next fight I was suddenly in Antarctica. Kicked a dude off a glacier. Overall, the game looks good and plays good. The only thing I can really complain about is the inclusion of the Virtua Fighter characters, since they just re-used the voice files from the last VF game and the difference in sound quality is really noticeable. It seriously sounds like the VF VA's are shouting into tin cans. Also jiggle physics, although it's hard to really complain about it when the game itself is actually good. Plus you more or less expect it at this point anyway.

You know, something that kind of confused me was the ESRB's M rating on this game. Is there anything that sets it apart from Soul Calibur or Skullgirls or something that warrants an M as opposed to a T? The jiggles can't be that bad. DOA Dimensions got rated T.

Unless it somehow has to do with the realistic graphics in this game or something dumb like that.

Personally, I think there is more of an emphasis on sexuality compared to SC5. Not necessarily because of jiggle or outfits or anything, but more so in how characters are portrayed. For instance, the story path for the new character Mila starts with her training in a gym and you can see her getting all sweaty, then it cuts to her drying off from her shower, pants on but no shirt (back view though, no nudity or anything like that in the game.) Even in the actual game, like during fights and such, I think just because of the way the characters are there is a bit more sexuality, but you aren't really focusing on it when you play because you're trying to beat the other guy up, or at least I'm not focusing on it because I'm not good enough at fighters to half-booty a match so I can stare at tits. To go with the ESRB, they gave it an M for partial nudity, sexual themes and violence where as SC5 got a T for mild language, suggestive themes and violence.

Speaking of sweat though, when you start a match the characters are "normal," but the characters will get sweaty as they fight. You can kinda notice it from a distance, but when the camera closes in for win/lose poses and stuff you can really see it. Like, it rolls down the characters face and drips off their chin and stuff. Looks pretty realistic and it's kinda neat. The fighters also get dirty and/or wet as you throw them to the ground (depending on the terrain) which is a nice touch, and if someone is wearing a costume with a hat or wig you can knock it off them as you fight. There's just a lot of little stuff here and there that adds to the game.

Also sadly gotta say I'm not a huge fan of GL's look. Not super bad but a little too busy

I feel the same way about Flash's costume. Supes looks good tho. Here's hoping there'll be a bunch of alt costumes.

They're excellent games, I really recommend them.

Testing the waters. Smart, Capcom. Too bad the community's too dumb to understand that.

Meanwhile I'll be downloading it day 1. I've always wanted to try out Darkstalkers.
