Average length of the single player is about 8 hours, I think. I vaguely recall someone from Valve saying that. And the co-op is about the same length as the first Portal. Again, Valve person. Vaguely. Don't quote me on this.

I think I should wait until it comes out and check reviews, the first one was so short my girlfriends brother had finished it before me and her had finished fucking in the room next door.

Portal 1 is also basically free nowadays and was never meant to be a full fledged game.

Portal was never intended to be a full length game. If you have decent skills you can beat the whole thing in just a few hours. If you're experienced you can fly through in under an hour. That's Portal 1.

Portal 2 IS a full game. New mechanics, characters (note the plural), and a story.
And Portal 1 has an absurd replay value. I don't think I've ever stopped playing it. It's fun to mess with the physics and find new walls to solve old puzzles.

So what I am saying is Portal 2 will be well-worth the $45 or whatever I spent for it on Steam.
