But I'm watching the Sw1thcer's month of scariness (which is also cool, and it's nice to see these lesser known games).

I can't actually watch that because I'm a wuss with even mildly scary things, even if I am not the one playing the game.


Erie fucked me up a little bit, even though the game over screen was so stupid.

So Matt and Pat are going to do a whole playthrough of Eternal Darkness. This is gonna be good.

Poor guy's been having a rough time at home though, but he still seems his usual self in videos which is a relief.

God I want to read Azzur's Warcraft2 LP but it's ongoing so it's not in the archives and I cna't view it on SA because no account!

The thing that always burns me with SA lps is I can't read their threads because there are almost always ad walls.

No, but seriously. My favorite are NintendoCapriSun, both as his friend and a fan, SuperJeenius, Chuggaaconroy, ArgonMatrix, JoshJepson, Donnabellez, AttackingTucans, LucahJin... the TGS group in general are my favorites. Oh, and SlimKirby and ALG and WaddlerD.

Gonna be the unpopular opinion again, I actually like JonTron more than Egoraptor in Game Grumps. It seems to me like Jon makes the majority of the jokes and Arin kind of adds on to it. By all means, both of them are essential to make it good, but I like what Jon has to contribute more. He's not an idiot, he's not ADHD, he's adding his own brand of humor, and while it doesn't work 100% of the time, I still appreciate it a lot.

I think the main problem I have with Arin is that when he and Jon disagree on some things, actually MOST things about a game(see OoT vs. ALttP), Arin gets really condescending to Jon. I remember they somehow got back to talking about OoT during their Super Mario Bros. Wii playthrough, and as soon as Jon mentioned that he liked it, Arin audibly scoffed at him. I kinda wanted to punch him. I mean, it's his opinion, man, lay off.

If by humour you mean yelling, also in the GG eps I watched Jon very rarely actually manages to back up his opinions with decent arguments.

So? It's still his opinion.

Like, most of his opinions over OoT is that it had what he looks for in a game, including a distinct atmosphere, locations with character (something he believes ALttP doesn't have as much of), and overall just feels good. Even if his arguments aren't high school debate team level like Ego wants, he still presents them genuinely without being like other people who need to shit on opposing games/talk out of their booty to make their game look best. He admits that ALttP is a good game, but it's not HIS opinion of a perfect Zelda game.

Ego gets a bit exasperated with Jon for not being able to debate games with him, but I think he needs to realize that Jon's more like the person that dissects a game personally, taking time to figure out why he likes them and what doesn't gel. He's not the person that can easily have a dialogue about his opinions on game design, because he can't control where the debate is going and he can't conceptualize all of the questions that'd be posed at him in such a situation.

It just means he's not effective at being put on the spot.

And frankly, Jon and Ego balance eachother. Ego can very easily get wrapped up in just marching through a game (which is why the Great Cave Offensive was pretty boring. Ego wanted to finish it because "he had to" and Jon knew the fun was being sucked out of the whole thing), and Jon forces him to stop and have a laugh. When Jon doesn't take on that role, we get New Super Mario Grumps Wii, a vapid wasteland of boring and general echoing of sameness.

At the same rate though, I can see where Jon grates people when he gets a bit more rowdy, especially when he interrupts some more interesting conversations with random shit.

Personally, I think people exaggerate Jon's yelling, but hey, opinions.

That's the thing, I watch videos with people talking about videogames because I want to hear them talk about videogames. If they can't properly do that, there's not much point in it for me. Different strokes for different folks and all that though, I don't mind anyone not minding him.

Jon is easily my favorite of the two Game Grumps. Like, even going back to their normal channels and everything.

I just can't watch those LPers anymore. They rely too much and bathroom humor and reusing the same jokes over and over again and it gets really stale hearing "MY BALLS" for the umpteenth million time. It wasn't funny to begin with really. And don't get me started on Chugga running every single joke he's ever made to the ground.

Only LPers I can watch are ProtonJon and Two Best Friends, if you can count them. Jon doesn't rely on gags and whatnot, but he makes watching it enjoyable. He knows an extensive amount of info on games he plays and even find new info to share with his fans (Superman 64 comes to mind).

And Two Best Friends are just down right hilarious. They do LPs on their other channel.
