[spoiler]SURE, Samus may not be expecting to face Ridley. SO WHAT?! She's always been a strong person! There's NO WAY IN HELL she'd act like a little scared bitch. Just shows how macho Team Ninja really is, she needs a man to be saved and regain her composure... daisies, even the Ridley cutscene from Brawl is better than this bullshit.[/spoiler]For a game that prides itself in its plot and character development, WAY TO BE OUT-OF-CHARACTER.

[spoiler]You know, it seems more like shock that Ridley is still alive when the planet he was on blew up. Besides that, I think the fact that she's already killed him 5 times only makes sense. She feels shocked and helpless because no matter how many times she kills her arch rival, he still survives. It was perfectly natural for Samus to feel as though she had no control over the situation and break down.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Baloney. The Samus I know didn't even flinch when she faced down a giant cyborg Ridley, why the heck would she be afraid now?[/spoiler]

This applies not only to Ridley, but every nintendo villain ever.

Well I was able to pick up a copy of Metroid: Other M early, and what little I've played it quite enjoyable.

Metroid: Other M's plot completely disregards the Metroid Prime trilogy.

[spoiler]This is made apparent early on when Samus says, "This is the first time I've taken orders from a commanding officer" since leaving Adam's command. This is only true if you discount Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, where she took orders from Admiral Dane.

Using that as a base, Samus has only killed Ridley twice, which makes her shock at seeing him much more believable.[/spoiler]

Also, I have just beaten the game with a final percentage of 37%. Only look below if you want spoilers on some bosses.

[spoiler]Nightmare, the Queen Metroid, and Phantoon make reappearances as bosses, in that order, with Phantoon being the last boss in the game. There is an additional post-credits sequence where you can collect all remaining items that you've missed. Finishing it is necessary to actually "complete" the game.[/spoiler]
