Non-Americans can grab it if they enter any old american address and Borderlands 2 is steamworks, so it requires steam to work, even if you buy it on amazon.

I would not even bother grabbing the first. BL2 improves on it in every way.

Well I would, but I'm totally anal about playing the first game first.

Though BL2's story does suffer pretty heavily if you don't just kinda get through the first game.

Doesn't seem to have the characters bundled though, so I'll wait until GotY version.

I don't think it'll get one. It should already have goty by now if it was gonna get one.

Oh, that's pretty good then, hopefully it wont need an American card though?

The last DLC released just a day or two ago, so a bit early to say there won't be one.

Oh, I was under the impression it was based on when the base game came out.

Well I purchased the season pass through amazon under my mother in law's address. Looks like it's all good.

Borderlands doesn't even have a story beyond "hey look a vault that might have treasure in it" and "guns, lots and lots of guns".

No, it dosen't, but BL2's story kind of relies quite a bit on you having played the first game.

Otherwise, Angel's betrayal, and Roland and Bloodwing's deaths are significantly less of a deal. As is the reveal that Angel is a siren.

i never played the first and i still found all the above quite a large deal. though part of it might have been that i get sad aboutany animal dying ever, but roland's death and angel being a siren was just as much of a shock to me as it was my friends i played with who played the first game.

i love that they acknowledge the shitty ending in the opening of b2

My playthrough of Borderlands 1 was almost entirely with a friend of mine. He was Mordecai, I was Lilith.

Bloodwings death actually resulted in him crying, and I ended up becoming seriously and very angry at Anthony Burch after Roland was killed and Lilith captured to the point of not wanting to play the game anymore for a very significant amount of time.

so yeah gonna have to say some prior experience with the characters helps a bit in the feelings department
