I have come to the conclusin that Peanuts is the single most depressing comic strip to ever make it into the daily papers.

Seriously, there's one strip where Charlie Brown stands on the pitcher's mound, completely silent for three panels, then in the fourth panel, he says, "I think I'm going to cry." And that's it. Seriously, wtf.

Also, Charles M. Schultz lived out most of his life in my town. We have a museum dedicated to him and various statues of Charlie Brown and Woodstock throughout the town, each decorated according to the business that it stands in front of. Still yet to put up any of Snoopy, but I can see it in the near future. There's an ice skating rink that was named after him, and he used to come and skate it with his close friends.

Aaaand that's the entirety of the noteriety of my home town. Well, Luther Burbank lived there too, but no one really knows who Luther Burbank is.

I find Charlie brown a bit odd....I liked it a bit when I was little, but then again, it's weird. Who names their kid Pigpen or Lucy and Linus litter brother who's name is Rerun! I think the animators and scriptors got bored.

BV....you're sig is still disturbing....but when you really look at it...It's funny in a stomach jerking way *goes to barf*

Yes, because every newspaper comic is written and carefully drawn by a team of writers and editors.

It's three panels. Four max.

Go ahead, look at your newspaper. With the exception of Rex Morgan, they're all made by one person each.

And, with the exception of Get Fuzzy, they all suck. :colbert:

Haha. My newspaper is clearly a lefty. So the funnies has a few political comics, like Non Sequitur, Doonsbury, and Candorville (which is a surprisingly funny comic). It also has one Conservative comic, Prickly City. This comic is poorly drawn, has sub par humor, and there was a particularly painful week where the two main characters fell down the "manga-hole" and proceded to fight the giant floating head of Nancy Pelosi. I couldn't eat for a month. Anyways, my point is, the newspaper is trying to make itself seem bi-partisan, but it's really just making fun of Republicans even more.

This makes me angry.

I don't like being angry.

Let's change the subject.

Soo... Calvin and Hobbes?

I tried to read a news article once, but with the way newspapers sort and number pages its like playing battleship with yourself. Besides that, only remotely funny thing in our paper is Dilbert.

I thought a few of them were funny. At my old job, I used to do the crossword puzzle at lunch, and that's about all I ever touched a newspaper for. I don't watch the news at all, either. The world could blow up right now and I wouldn't find out for another month or so.
