I now own Halo: CE Anniversary, it is the best texture pack.

Halo CE was a very good game; Innovative, fun

Halo 2 was, imo, the worst of the series, I didn't even know what was going on, there's more than that, I promise

Halo 3 I've only finished it, Reach, and ODST was really good, albeit too COD-like.

Halo: ODST was great, a nice break from the original: Your are the super-soldier, go that way and kill it.

Halo Wars I thought it would have been a better PC game but pretty much this

Halo: Reach A good finale HA, but altogether nice show of what has happened, and why you're fighting other than, they're bad, and hurting us, they won't stop EDIT: Thanks for reminding me YCobb, this is also Good, but too much COD, bits of it got in my teeth, even.

And, that is my HALO review.

there should be no apostrophe in the title. it is plural, not a contraction.

aw, thank you for fixing it

I'm surprised you noted that 3 is similar to CoD when Reach was way more pronouncedly similar.

I haven't had a chance to play 2, but I've enjoyed all but ODST and Wars so far.
Three was probably my favorite for multiplayer and campaign, but Reach is a close second on campaign.

Reach was great, amazing campaign. I called Halo 3 COD-ish because of the last bit, when you leave the green, I actually thought they were 2 different games, the beginning and the end.

By "leave the green," do you mean the parts where you were fighting in alien corridors?
Because I don't really see how that's similar to CoD at all; CoD games are generally outdoors with small structures except for like one level in Blops that I only sort of remember. That's also pretty much exactly how One and Two ended so ??????

I thought Reach was similar because it has that whole squad thing going for it, bloom, sprinting, etc. Felt a lot more like a CoD game from a gameplay standpoint.

I've played every Halo game to date save for the CE remake which I'll probably pick up from a bargain bin some day. Really like the series and it's the one console fps series I can see myself going back to. I still feel like I haven't played Reach as much as I should, but I had more fun with 3, which I played for a couple hundred hours on Live.
Probably gonna stay away from any future Halo games though, since they won't be made by Bungie and the quality will probably decline since MS will keep the series going until production costs outweigh the profits.

The forest area just before you get swept off to that base that gets attacked.

I guess the COD-ness came from the middle part, city gets glassed, go into the alien place.

In Halo CE, the flood scared the shit out of me.

Not sure I'd recommend it, honestly. It's a good port and still fun, but 343 decided to make all the graphics be a mess of glowing blue shit. For any other game I wouldn't be mentioning this, but when it's a port where bodaciously the only relevant change is the graphics, that's sort of a deal breaker.
They're not bad or anything, just not at all in tune with the rest of the series. I hope they wise up before 4 comes out, because I liked the look they had going for Reach.

I was too young to really notice when Halo originally came out. Halo 2 was the first one I played, and it was only for multiplayer to begin with. When I finally did play the campaign, I got to the part where you played as the Arbiter meeting the Flood for the first point in the game. I didn't get the whole zombie-analogue because I never played the first one, so the explanation that cropped up in my mind was that the aliens for some reason saw humans as disgusting monstrous creatures.

I thought the graphics fit really well. The Forerunner tunnels were so gray before. Now it looks more like Reach, just less dreary.

Well they're the remains of a civilization that disappeared mysteriously 100,000 years ago. The game designers weren't doing their job if it didn't look dreary.

It gets dreary when you hit the flood, 'til then it's more awe inspiring.

That seems to be a perfect transition, doesn't it? When shit hits the fan, you can see the shit that gets strewn about.

That might be the worst metaphor I've ever used.

Up until you hit the last part and have to go-kart your way out of an exploding structure. With the worst driving controls imaginable.
