Alright bitches time for a Battlefield thread due to the sweet crapping nature of this motherfucking trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zw8SmsovJc

This is in celebration of the third Battlefield, but feel free to discuss Battlefield 2, the Bad Company series, 1942/3 or Vietnam or even Heroes for all I care.

Battlefield 3 is gonna feature

24 Players Console, 64 for PC
Jets are returning
Prone returning
Upgraded physics and building destruction capabilities
Possible weather effects
Dragging injured teammates is not in multiplayer unfortunately.

Anyone else excited? I'm practically vibratious.

I enjoyed my brief time with BC2 up until I wiped my computer and never reinstalled, so I might actually get this. Especially with the huge multiplayer, I mean daisies.

64 man is Battlefield standard. Lightly modded servers in BF2 regularly ran 128.

Definitely gonna get 3, enjoyed BFBC2 a lot and I still play it. Gonna get a new CPU and get it on PC instead of 360 this time, especially since the PC version gets some nice benefits.

Only thing that's bothering me is that the player in the trailer was almost gets hit right in the face with an RPG and just gets up like nothing happened.

If by in the face you mean on the other side of a car then yes. RPGs are shaped charges anyway, little fragmentation.

Ah, I looked at it again, for some reason I taught the RPG hit the car the player was standing right next to, not the one in front of it. That does seem more plausible.

Glad the grenade they're using doesn't explode like a missle too

Regenerating health
Main character is Superman (okay, that may be because it's a trailer)
Marines vs evil arab people
High-school level jokes
CUT THE RED WIRE
Cars blowing up all day

The graphics look mighty fine, but apart from that I didn't like what I saw in that trailer. Sounds like the multiplayer would be fun though.

Regenerating health and "Superman" are for technical demonstrations, I assume it will work like Bad Company 2, limited health regeneration requiring a medical personnell for full healing.

"Evil Arab People" I don't, what. It's physically in Iraq. In current military deployment zones. There are organized terrorist groups. Clearly you're gonna fight French.

High-school level jokes, welcome to the military.

Cut the red wire, all he did was follow an possible IED trail to a computer station which he turned off. All military personnell can and do do this, in the event that an EOD team is too far away. EOD stands for Explosive Ordinance Disposal.

Also, cars explode when a bullet punctures the gas line or destroys the internal workings of an engine. Grenades and an RPG-7 are explosive devices. I don't understand where we're going with that one.

Limited I mean, although you might figure it out, means you only regenerate a certain percentage of health, 25, 50, 75 whatever, and you need a medic to finish you off.

Hardcore accellerates this by having health regeneration to about 10%, so there's practically none.

Wasn't this busted by Mythbusters? I'm pretty sure it was actually. However, it's so embedded into film and game culture that it doesn't really bother me any more.

Edit: to clarify: it was busted that a car explodes when a bullet hits the gas or engine or whatever.

Yes but busting an engine block and igniting the fuel with a spark will cause an explosion.
