More accurately, Activision is being sued by Jason West and Vince Zampella, two of the chief executives of Infinity Ward that were recently fired for allegedly breaching the terms of their contracts and being insubordinate. West and Zampella were also apparently appealing to other publishers behind Activision's back.

While they may not seem like the good guys at this point, I haven't yet pointed out that Infinity Ward has not seen one cent of the royalties generated by Modern Warfare 2 that Activision is contractually obligated to pay them. Activision was also apparently trying to seize employees' personal electronics to find evidence of Infinity Ward's backroom dealings, which they failed to do. West and Zampella are also suing to keep their contracted rights to the Modern Warfare franchise which, if given to them, could effectively put an end to Activision's plans to whore out the Call of Duty franchise until it's dry, like they did with Guitar Hero.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm rooting for West and Zampella. Now, to get my popcorn...

EDIT: My 666th post is about Activision being the devil. I have never been more proud.

Activision's CEO, Bobby Kotick, is an idiot, so I'm not surprised at anything Activision does

Can we destroy Activision yet or does it need to do one more stupid thing so it becomes a complete pariah?
And not the game Pariah.

lol, if Activision does anything to Blizzard (since they own Blizzard now), they'll get at least 9 million people rustled off

Activision is bad people.

I'm rooting for Infinity Ward.

Edit: Just to be sure, Activision is the puplisher that dropped Brutal Legend because it wouldn't produce yearly sequels, right?

I love how Activision's been running itself into the ground without realizing it.

Yep. It's also the same publisher that Valve had to sue to get royalties from back in 2004. Even then, Activision didn't pay up until last April.

I thought so. Activision sucks.

If Activision were a person, I would hand them a rolled up piece of paper and say "This contains a secret message, decode it" and when they looked at it they would see a drawing of a hand flipping the bird.

...Didn't EA used to be the big bad guy publisher?

They've really improved, haven't they?

At least, in comparison to Activision.

Then again, EA doesn't have Bobby Kotick
Quote:
During a speech at the 2009 Deutsche Bank Securities Technology Conference, Kotick received significant criticism from enthusiasts and the media for stating, "We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games." Kotick later stated he tries to promote an atmosphere of "skepticism, pessimism, and fear" in his company and, "We are very good at keeping people focused on the deep depression."

I don't even play Activision games and I think Kotick is a douche.

People who actually enjoy their games must want to kill him.

I didn't think anyone actually talked like that outside of cartoon villains
