Ok I need a new mecha/ giant robot title to tide me over for a while and was wondering if any of you could offer suggestions. Ive owned every Armored Core to date and if it says "Gundam" anywhere on it Ive already whored out for it. Probably the most charming ive ever played was a nice little title known as R.A.D. (Robot Alchemic Drive), absolutely loved it. Anything I might of missed?

P.S. Torrenting is pretty much a no-go on my current setup so translated Super Robot Wars titles are impossible for me to get *sadface*

MechWarrior universe, specifically the MechAssault series. There's also Chromehounds but they recently shutdown the multiplayer servers :c

You also need to purchase an actual mech to play Chromehounds.

Chromehounds was a favorite of mine. Sega shutting down the servers made me ashen for weeks. Custom robo is a great idea though, I remember dabbling in the DS one for a bit.

I almost cried when the chromehounds servers went down. Lots of good memories from that one there.

Lots of frustrating memories from Steel Battalion way back in the day. You know, the huge simulator that cost 200 bucks before paying that much for a video game and peripherals was cool.

Ahhhh Steel Battalion, good times. That controller was heavy, I once dropped it on my foot. There was pain.

Also, I missed this the first time around, I second the MechWarrior recommendation. Lots of fun times there, I recently found a brand new copy of Mechwarrior 2 at the local goodwill. MW4 is also pretty good and is supposed to be released for free by Battletek, but good luck holding your breath on that one. It's been help up for this long by a lawsuit, I just said fuck it and torrented it because I was tired of waiting.

I've never played MechWarrior, but I've heard good things about it. You should definitely check it out.

Robot Alchemic Drive is still one of my favorite games, simply because of the gameplay, but it took me so long to find because it was no longer being printed due to lackluster sales. Ahaha, good memories. I'm going to have to see if I can find it again (I lost my old copy).

Found it at my local Gamestop along with a copy of "Kinnikuman Legend" for $10. A fantastic weekend followed. Nothing ever came close to the gameplay though, controlling a mecha from an adjacent skyscraper gave a fantastic sense of scale and magnitude. Also: GLLANG FIRE ALL ORDINANCE!!!

I just flooded my mother's basement with semen.

Hopefully AC5 will ditch some of the 4 games' horrible choices and bring back some of the classic goodness, such as ACTUAL arenas and DPAD movement (fuck the analog sticks, can't stand them, so inaccurate and hard to hold the controller with my tiny hands)

The thing I hated the most about AC4 and FA was the boosting. Sure, quick boost is nice.... but I miss just simply running with my mech without boosters. It was just so badass to have a heavy mech clank around and pwn face, now it's just constant boosting.... every mech feels like a lightweight mech, so lame.

Actually wait, the thing I hate most about AC4 and FA is the lack of COLOR. Too much grey and brown.

And the missions.... they were awful, not many of them, and too easy.

They need to go back to the awesomeness of Another Age. So many amazing missions, over a freakin HUNDRED of them and AC4 has a measly 35 missions, that last about 20 seconds each.
