The unfortunate thing is that what's currently dominating the video game industry is "many/hardcore" video games like Madden and the FPS, so all those video game homages are going to take a backseat to the douchebag nation.

And what's this? No Nintendo? In a VIDEO GAME awards show? So you're going to have an award show for a form of media, but not include the one that's been in the biz the longest. Yeah, that makes a lot of fucking sense.

Ummm, pretty sure Activision has been in the business longer than Nintendo, considering they were the first third party company ever.

And I also wasn't aware age somehow secured a right to get an award.

But yeah, the choice for GOTY is pretty much the universal one. It seemed everybody who's got an award had about two different choices - "Uncharted 2" and "I'll be different so people will pay attention to me"

He's reffering to how the Wii had some good games this year and Nintendo wasn't even mentioned.

There were also no PC games, whats your point? They may have had some games, but they weren't the best. As this was the ceremony for the best of the best of the best, none of the games made the cut.

Nintendo has been around since 1989. Activision started in 1979.

Also, the lack of Nintendo and PC games is bullshit, but Spike is appealing to the "HALO BRO" type of gamer.

Also, he said that the King Kong game being nominated was sign of corruption. I thought the King Kong game was supposed to be one of the best movie games of all time?

Alright, fine. But Atari was still there before Nintendo moved into the industry, so are you saying Ghostbusters deserves an award?

Lack of Japanese games is a bit obvious, but if I look through my purchases for the year, though I have a fuckton preordered for next year, the only great Japanese game I played this year off the top of my head was Demons Souls, and that was way too obscure to win an award here, or really anywhere.

How was Demon Souls obscure.

Maybe obscure is the wrong term, more niche. A niche a certain hat wearing insult comic sucks balls at, and we should laugh at his failure.

Demon Souls was panned for being rather difficult, actually.

I heard that, and from what I heard (from The CAD guy) that's what made it fun.

Which is why we laugh at him because he sucks. Seems odd he was praising Ninja Gaiden II for being ball crushingly difficult, but Demons Souls is more balls crushingly difficult and doesn't have any of the bugs and he pans it.

The VGA's. While it seems to be pretty fucked up, I think that overall, with one or two notable exceptions, the awards themselves sound about right. Nothing that really deserved to win majorly got left out.

The VGAs suck. That's a universally accepted thing among gamers. They are an utter joke!

How much of a joke are they? Put it this way: the only reason King Kong and 50 Cent made the list there was because they were pretty much plugging the games! They were new games that their sponsors wanted to try get more publicity! And I'm not making this up out of biasness - that's what actually happened!



Aaaand of course Indigo doesn't see anything at all wrong that his own videogame opinions correlate to that of VGAs.

Heck, Joe even complained that a game like the NFL won over Madden or FIFA twice in a row!
