So all we know so far is that there is a distinct possibility Three Dog will be back. That alone has me psyched for Fallout 4. Mister New Vegas can go suck an AI dick. Three Dog will always be my favorite constant companion in the wasteland.

Eh, but rumors seem to think the game will be set in Massachusetts. I'm hoping we get to explore the Commonwealth and run into some runaway androids and find Dr. Li since she ran away to the Commonwealth after the original ending to Fallout 3.

Is there any info besides rumors? I really hope Bethesda isn't developing this.

Why? Fallout 3 was incredible. The characters were awesome. Skyrim was their latest game and it was awesome, so just imagine Skyrim with guns, robots, and pip boys. Their games tend to start out buggy. That's a given, but they're usually worth putting up with the bugs til they get patched out.

The bugs never get patched. Step on one, three more appear in their place.

But even though New Vegas was far superior to Fallout 3, I still liked 3. I've got no problem with Bethesda.

I rarely encounter any bugs in Bethesda games. I never met the amazing helicopter saber cat.

Yeah, can't criticize you for liking New Vegas more than 3 Exeres, but there were just things about 3 that I liked more than New Vegas. Neither game was bad. Companions in New Vegas were a lot better though. With Three Dog in the mix in any way my hype is up already. I know the Three Dog voice actor teasing Three Dog coming back in some way doesn't mean he'll be Fallout 4's disc jockey, but I really hope so. If it's set on the east coast there's the smallest hope we'll see a rebuilt Liberty Prime too.

New Vegas was pretty great. I think the problem was that it was on what seemed to be basically the Oblivion engine, which was pretty dated and terrible before Oblivion.

If they actually put a Fallout game on something decent, you'd have a pretty daisies good title.

Please explain. You may have had an incredible time playing Fallout 3, and enjoyed it immensely, but can you tell me why it's an incredible game? What about it, exactly, is memorable, meaningful, important, engaging or worthwhile that wasn't already done better in the first?

Not commenting on whether or not 3 was good in general, but why does it need to be better than the first?

Well, it broad terms it doesn't I suppose, and it is better to look at it as its own game, but if you're going to make a sequel shouldn't you ideally be trying to either take it in a meaningfully different direction or improving somehow on the original?

Yeah, you're right, that would be the ideal thing to do. I don't think you've utterly failed if it fails to live up to the original though. It'll still be a new experience

I think they did the first bit already, as an FPS and a strategy game are fairly different, and then that kinda negates the second bit, because two different genres cannot really improve from each other in terms of basic gameplay.
