I really wish thet they would make it so that you get XP for your actual in game performance. It's annoying that I earn more XP for spending time in a match than for doing well.

It doesnt matter if a game is fast or slow though. You get the same XP per hour played. The major thing is being on the winning team. I believe you get 25% more xp for winning than you do for losing.

I know, but it's still an issue. I think that if Hi-Rez rewarded players for performing well in a specific gametype (such as doing flag-based objectives in a CTF match, or defending points in a C&H match) would encourage people to become better players overall. It's basic stuff:
-Someone does something and they get rewarded.
-They will keep doing that action again and again

If you get rewarded for helping your team and focusing on objectives, then it will reinforce the team play that Trivbes is so well-known for.

Yes but its easy to just deathmatch in a game over and over and get a high score. You contribute very little to your team this way.

You wouldn't be the first person to claim that the credit system encourages bad gameplay. Killing flag runners is not well-rewarded, llama grabbing is not heavily punished, returning flags is rewarded even when it is a fantastically bad idea to do so, and there are so many different ways to kill someone in style that the game will shower credits upon you for that I have no difficulty topping the scoreboards without even trying to do an actually important job. Players do try to maximize their rewards, as you say, but they do this by retreating to generator rooms where they can be certain that there will be conflict at nearly all times.

I once turned a 0-4 game into a 4-4 simply by starting to care about the outcome and using my vast fortune to purchase five Shrikes, with which I capped. Only one player on the enemy team stopped me from single-handedly winning the game by switching to Doombringer on the fifth cap, and I could still afford another Shrike when it was over. The only reason I didn't win the game was because my team's flag defense (a much more respectable role, but one that still pays far, far better than flag running) failed to keep our flag out of their hands, and as we had no chasers and the players around and within the enemy base didn't care about the enemy flag runner, he capped with virtually no opposition away from the stand.

At the end of the game, the Doombringer told me that I would have won had he not been there. I made it clear that my team didn't deserve it anyways.

I know my RL friends like to defend the flag, so I like playing with them. I have also been working on Sentinel and can get off at least 1 shot on the enemy capper now before they make it home. Hopefully they have low enough HP (from a flag defender) so that I kill them and then we get the return.

Nothing is more annoying to kill a capper only to have them respawn and pick it back up again from midfield because no one (on either team) went to go get it.

All I can say is, poor Brutes. They deserved it way more.

I'd be more excited had I actually unlocked the class, I have 170k xp and I'm not sure what to spend it on.

The plasma rifle is pretty powerful. Its fast firing rate and large hit box make it easy to hit mid airs.
