I finally got to play it for a bit today.

Haven't gotten very far, but I love it already.

New dungeon crawl from the people that made Recettear. Same sort of visual style and tone. Considering the only reason I liked Recettear was the shop stuff, as opposed to the bland action grinding, think I might give it a miss.

Everyone should know that Chantelise is actually older than Recettear, which is why it's a lot less polished and cheaper.

It's a very fun and quite challenging game even if it's nothing very special, the only thing that really sets it apart is the magic system which revolves around collecting gems from monster drops, which gives the boss fights an extra factor of "Oh shit my sword does nothing gotta get gems gotta get gems oh fuck" The later spells are also p. cool (meteors and stuff). There also isn't any grinding since you will accumulate cheddar fast enough normally and your stats are increased by buying equipment and potion things.

I'm up to the boss of the 4th dungeon and I enjoy Elise's thighs

With all this apartment hunting during the day and going to work at night, I'm not gonna get much done anytime soon in this game.

Holy shit I had no idea about half this stuff

http://simulationstyle.bravehost.com/Ch ... magic.html

I mean I knew that gems affected the spells of other gems but it was mostly from me throwing spells everywhere at random

edit: the link will be broken due to filters, just use your common sense

edit: I beat the story, the boss is a hell of a lot easier if you have good items
