A) Copyright law isn't what it used to be. Back then, no one really cared. Many NES games sampled real songs, such as the opening of Donkey Kong, the Grim Reaper's theme from Kid Icarus, and, most prominently, the theme of Tetris.

B) Do you even know who "they" are?

C) Mother 3 never came out in the U.S.

shoo', I know this stuff and I still haven't played the game.

DANG! I was just about to post that! Well, yeah, I pretty much am a newer EarthBound fan, and as such, not used to rejection.

The news annoys me in the way that I feel a lot of the "problems" could be easily fixed. Its not like those references added much to the game, at least in my opinion.

Unfortunately for you, I know quite a few EarthBound fans that would rather have EarthBound NOT be released for the VC then be butchered to prevent lawsuits and being sued. That's what 4Kids did with One Piece, and look how THAT turned out!

Also, this:

Warning, he doesn't mention the latest news about EarthBound on the Virtual Console, probably because that was pretty recent news and he didn't read it by the time he finished this.

Come on. I'd hardly say removing a few Beatles references and changing some of the music is equal to what 4kids did to One Piece. Its not like they'd have to change the eight melodies or anything. They could also take the opportunity to change Pokey's name back to Porkey.

Yeah, there are those guys who prefer Pokey over Porky, and while I'm good with both names now (like with Robotnik and Eggman), I still, more often then not, prefer Pokey.
