AWKWARD ZOMBIE

Alright, so if you haven't already been made aware, the Halo Wars demo is available on Xbox Live. It has 2 tutorials, 2 missions, and a skirmish map where you can 1v1 against the AI. It's free, so hey, why not download it? It will take a while though since it's 1.4 Gigs.

Anyways, here's my impression of the demo:

It's not bad, but it's not anything good either. It's kind of "Well, that was cool I guess." The controls are really simple, which is a huge plus when it comes to playing an RTS on the ecksbawks (or on anything other than a PC). I would've liked a little bit more control over my individual units, even though this game heavily relies on you building a huge force and then going to fuck everything up. Also, the building trees don't have the amount of complexity that would drive away anyone who isn't a pro at RTS games. It's a very player friendly game. It looks great in terms of graphics, with no kind of lag at any time while I was playing. And it doesn't let down in the sense of having a narrative that keeps you intrigued. One of the perks of being set in the Halo-verse, where a good story has already been woven.

But ultimately, I'll pass on buying this one.

It was fun for the most part. I'm a pretty hard person to please, so you should take that into account. In terms of other RTSs on the consoles, mostly the 360, it's probably in the top 3.

ya i was just gonna ask how does it hold us as a RTS on a 360, caues mostly they suck balls unless they are on PC.

The only thing worse than a console FPS is a console RTS.

Now Halo manages to cover both of those...
