Has anyone played either of these two games? Dark Void is a game published by Capcom, released for the Xbox 360, PS3, etc., while Dark Void Zero is a sort of tie-in with the main game, released exclusively for DSiWare.

Obviously, I'm not getting Dark Void anytime soon, (no Xbox 360 or PS3), but I'm curious about the DSiWare game. Kind of like how Capcom remade the original Bionic Commando and it was more well-received than the newer "hardcore" Bionic Commando, this game was promoted as a game they "found" in Capcom's vault. And like Mega Man 9 and 10, it had it's own boxart:

The game is said to have an exploration sort of game, like Metroid and some of the Castlevania games. Also, after reading some of what the game is about, I'm sensing the classic feel of retrogaming, in that things get nutso. The main character is called "Rusty" saving the word from aliens, you blow into the DSi's mike like you'd blow into NES cartridges, and there's a character called "Captain Jimmy Fallon".

...Hell YES I'm interested in this! I'm getting this game as soon as I can! ...Well, no wait, actually, I'd like to hear some more feedback.

As for Dark Void itself, I say Yahtzee's review of it on Zero Puncutation:

A guy riding a jetpack, saving the world from aliens? Sounds like the DSiWare tie-in, only not nearly as interesting (except for the jetback thing).

Anyway, has anyone played either of these two games?

I played the Dark Void demo and it was pretty sweet.

Same makers as Crimson Skies for the Xbox and that game was awesome.

The flying mechanics in Dark Void are pretty solid and I had a lot of fun climbing to the top of the map and then free falling for a while. You can pull Immelmans and you rarely get disoriented. It takes a while to get the hang of flying, especially taking off without smashing your head into hard things. You can also jack aircraft in mid flight and there's an implemented cover system for when you're on the ground.
There's nothing overtly awesome about it. I don't think I would buy it but I'd definitely play rent or borrow it. If the rest of the game is like the demo, I wonder what the developers did to spice things up later on.
