Snake really never appealed to me.

Neither has Sony. Ever. It's kind of like a Mac for me. I'll play with it when I really have nothing else.

Also, I like Half-Life's plot and setting a lot more. It's more focused and interesting to me. While Metal Gear's is confusing and wild. The only best part of it is the bosses and even then, only a few.

PSYCHO MANTIS.

Naruto totally stole that line

Naruto never used that line, as far as I know. Well, except for that he used the word 'believe' a lot.

Didn't Naruto yell, "BELIEVE IT!" a lot?

HABEEB IT!

Apples and oranges, buddy.
I guess I can agree to what you're saying there, and try to not get into a flame war.

That being said, I'm a little reluctant to take the opinions of quality of someone who doesn't like Shadow of the Colossus or Ico.

Did... did you honestly just say that you don't care about his opinion if he doesn't like X? Wow, that's pretty much a whole new level of non-RNF pretentiousness in this forum!

What the hell does it mean to "take the opinions of" someone anyway?

Maybe he meant 'take their opinions on board', which is another way of saying he's prepared to take their opinions seriously.

I've never even heard of Ico before.

Pretty much what it means. I'm surprised you lot never heard of the phrase before though, it's fairly common!

It's a very artistic game, notable for its huge emphasis on music, environment, and other such stuff. It's also seen as something of a founding father for modern-day environmental effects (such as soft and bloom lighting techniques). It's considered to be one of the best games altogether, and is the spiritual predecessor to ShadowOfTheColossus.

Of course, as you can guess, it meant the gameplay was sub-par. Whatever about games like Psychomantis, this one really did take the opposite route Pokemon did and prioritised the gameplay a distant second to ambience. And for someone like me, who feels that playing a game should be based on playing and not on admiring its non-interactive elements, it makes for a not-so-fun game.

And yes, you may be noticing a trend in Indigo's preference of games (Ico, SotC, GoW). Mainly, that they're games notable for being great in ambience and such but not so much in actual gameplay. I don't think me and him will ever come to a good conclusion on what a good game is...
