It seems like you're looking for a position as a concept artist? Unfortunately, it's a very difficult position to get. Like d-vid said, you'll need to be very good at art. It would also help a bunch if you had something out there that would impress companies, like a comic or your own amateur game. If you have a comic with well-designed characters and backgrounds, then it shows companies you can do the job.
It'll also help if you're familiar with the modeling software used. You can't just enter the industry at a position as prestigious as designer. You'll need to start as either a programmer or a lower level of artist and work your way up.
Load up on art classes and take programming if it's available to you. In college, go for classes related to digital art with a minor in programming if you can get it.
