It exists now if it didn't before
huge
Seeing this made me realise how awesome an HD remake of EarthBound on the Wii U would be

They're definitely best suited for RPG fans, I think. Certainly not games I would start someone off with if I was trying to get them interested in the RPG genre. I feel like the static characters in battles and minimal battle animation would be a bit of a turn off to new RPG players, and I personally felt that Earthbound could be a tad tedious to play at times, though not often. That being said, the Mother series is still really good.

I think they're way less tedious than most RPGs

autobattle, cheddar is never a problem, I never really had to grind, butterflies to refill your PP in dungeons

Really you shouldn't start someone on Mutha because they'd realise all other RPGs are a chore

You kinda need to grind in the first town to beat the first few bosses. After you get Paula though it's smooth sailing.

While that image is PK Rad, I don't know if Earthbound would work as well as it did if it were in 3D. I think a lot of its charm was in its visual simplicity. I don't know if the weird enemies and places would look as good in 3D without some serious thought being put into the art style considered.

That said, I would not be averse to playing such a remake if they really did put thought into it.

I can imagine

It would be nice to have a 3DS remake of MOTHER 3
weren't they planning on bringing it to the US, or was that just EarthBound

http://earthboundcentral.com/2009/04/fa ... -mother-3/

the notoriously brutal famitsu reviewers gave it a total of 35/40

you were saying?

But Famitsu also gave FF13 a 40/40?
Granted, time has passed and everyone has their opinions but still?
Also one group of people's opinions doesn't necessarily reflect an entire culture's?
