For starters, this is an awesome comic. Unique ideas, hilarious execution, very nice artwork. Minus one thing.

The one problem I keep seeing with your comic is shading. Yes, people rarely notice it and yes it is difficult to do right. But you use it. And if you use it, you gotta use it right, otherwise it's not worth trying to add.

Before you shade, think about where the light is, where it should fall, and what blocks it. You follow creases and dips in the shapes of objects well, but the larger areas of shadow are sometimes misguided or inverted. In some comics you light source seems to be coming from the center of each panel, although there's nothing there creating light. Other times there really is no light source and shading is just everywhere.

Yes I am nit-picking your art style, and most people would dismiss this critique. It depends on your personal standard of drawing; if your standard is perfection then shading is something you need to look into.

And now we just take my Phtalo blue and just scrape it across the canvas...

Finally a thread that isn't a 'feel good thread' but rather one that actually puts down critism, which is what Katie asks for. Bravo good sir, bravo.

Yeah my shading is really inconsistant. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned it. You're right about the "light source in the middle of the panel most of the time" thing; if there's no specific light source I tend to do that out of some weird habit.

Anyway, thanks for the words.
