For those who have not played Red Dead and think this is the usual 'gun is easy to press' problem, no.

There is a button for aim and a button for shoot. Sometimes you need to aim before you can shoot at all. Sometimes you can shoot immediately and Arthur will hipfire instantly without hesitation, killing whoever you happen to have in the center of your view at the time. Sometimes, one of those buttons is used to look at a person in order to talk to them. Fun times.

I figured it was a "gun and interact button are one and the same", so I was close.

I watched someone play redead2 and this never happened. Slightly disappointed to find out this was a thing. But Arthur did spend an inordinate amount of time trying to find his hat.
