I don't know why I remembered this line when I read this comic.

Sun/Moon introduced a new aspect/variant of handling your team's health and status called Pokemon Refresh. The idea being, your critters would come out of battles being all scuffed, mussed and dirty, and you, as a caring trainer, had a set of tools and items you could use to clean and tidy them up, increasing their affection while also clearing them of various status effects. Which tool you need to use depends on what attacks were in effect during battle -- use a brush to remove lingering dust from Sand Attack, a towel to wipe off a Mud Slap, and yes, a blow-dryer to dry them off after Hydro Pump. (Drying is not a recommended step for many Water-types.)

That's pretty neat, actually. And now that has me wondering if you can abuse your pokemon by mishandling that refresh. (Or rather, if there are any consequences for abusing them.) Like you mentioned, using the blow-drier on a water type, or other similar treatments that would be a bad idea for certain pokemon.
