Honestly, Super Smash Bros has too many protagonists for "my parent(s) are dead" to garner sympathy from anyone.

I mean isn't it technically possible that Corn's parents were (either directly or indirectly) killed by dragons too-- Mikoto's killer was under Anankos' control and Anankos himself was most likely killed by Corn in canon

Don't forget that Anankos also killed his good self... Or something. That was a weird game.

No, see. If Samus wanted to show off, she'd tell you the same space dragon also killed her adoptive space bird parents, no relation to Falco, one of which who gave her his DNA so she would survive on their world making that one as good as her original two Biological parents.

There's a possibility for Roy to be the child of a dragon, Marth.

"Dragon worshippers killed my father"
Except, they really didn't? Did Katie pay absolutely no attention to the story when she played FE11 and just make up her own story? Would certainly explain why she believes Marth in that game to have been a Yugioh protagonist.

It's called creative license, and honestly Katie isn't required to follow the FE11 story; there's more than one presented take on Cornelius' death.

I don't care about creative license if they're being used to mislead people about a character's actual personality. You just know that some idiot on Fanfiction or AO3 is gonna take Katie's headcanon seriously when they write their fanfics. Especially when Katie believes the ACTUAL Marth, NOT JUST HER HEADCANON MARTH, to be something that he absolutely ISN'T. Anyone who believes that Katie's Marth or Melee Marth is a vain narcissist is fine, but anyone who believes that FE11 Marth is all "TEAMWORK IS AWESOME" is an idiot.

Keyword fanfic, where said fan also has creative license and can portray Marth as they see fit. If someone wants to write Marth in line with Katie's view of him, let them. It bodaciously doesn't matter whether or not it's also in line with canon portrayals of him and his personality.

Katie writing Marth as she sees fit in her own webcomic is not misleading anyone. If you really find it that upsetting, I suggest not reading Awkward Zombie, as this can't be good for your health.

Lucina: "Eh, dragon-worshippers killed my elder aunt, my dad, my younger aunt, everyone in the world, and then for good measure killed my elder aunt again."

"But your dad's right over there!"

"... he got better."

Pardon the intrusion, but oddly enough, there are some comics from this site that are relevant to this conversation:
