Yeah, it's like, in Bioshock it's not just enough for people to leave their tapes lying around, no they leave the entire recorder/player as well.

Maybe they predicted the future and didn't want people to find their info, at least not all at once...
..Or it's just game logic that doesn't make sense in real life.
